After retiring earlier this year because of the many controversies that have plagued his career, the mongolian man known as the Yokozuna, Asashōryū Akinori, in the Japanese Sumo World might just be going into MMA. Nothing is confirmed yet and Asashoryu has yet to go through his retirement ceremony. Now I know that former sumo rikishi have not fared well in the past in MMA (fellow former Yokozuna, Akebono Taro, went 0-4 in MMA matches and Sentoryū Henri has a 6-10-1 record with his latest loss being earlier this year), but Asashoryu has a background in Mongolian Sumo which might help him in the future. In addition his two brothers, Blue Wolf and "Slippery", have made notable debuts in MMA. Blue Wolf has done prowrestling and won a match against Tom Howard in 2004 and Slippery was winning a match against Bob Sapp before he was unable to answer the bell after the first round!
