...which of the dominant three UFC champions (BJ Penn, GSP, A. Silva) do you think would dominate their respective weight classes the most amount of times consecutively? Silva currently has 5 title defenses, GSP has four, and BJ Penn has three. I'm curious because I think that it has to be Silva, because I think that A. Silva stayed at MW he could easily win another five title defenses. I don't see GSP not getting caught once in six title defenses to tie that, and for BJ Penn to win seven more in a row would be absolutely insane. I know that obviously there is talk about all three of them moving up in weight, but assuming they stayed at their current weight class until the end, who do you think would have the most title defenses before a loss?

BJ Penn. No one can touch him at 155. Except, maybe Maynard could possibly outwrestle him for 5 rounds, but BJ is too well rounded a MMAist to get taken down and held there by a guy who has just barely eeked by some really good fighters.

AS could possibly be suseptible to a guy like Sonnen if he can get close to Silva without getting KOed.

I dont know who can beat GSP but a guy like Alves with great TDD and ground defense and great striking could maybe find a way.

This is all under the assumption that the fighters would stay in their divisions and not retire prematurely of course.

I gotta go with GSP.

Nobody can stop his takedowns, or defend against his athleticism.

Silva and Penn will be moving up in weight very soon. I dont think Silva wants to fight at 185 anymore and both BJ and Silva have just about cleaned out their divisions. And with Dana already talking about BJ moving up in weight, it is most likely to happen.

I'd say GSP, looks like he's there to stay at WW and now he will be beating everyone for the 2nd time around and maybe BJ if Dana gifts him another shot.

AS is incredible, but Sonnen and Vitor have decent chances of beating him on top of the fact he wants to move up.

BJ Penn, LW is just so thin, KenFlo is the only one that might challenge BJ and we've seen how that turned out last time.

BJ Penn great fighter and legend that he is, I actually believe his days as champ could be numbered, I dont think Frankie Edgar is the best LW in the UFC (I believe Penn is) but I do believe that Edgar is a bad stylistic match up for Penn and I think he could take this fight.

As for who do I think rain as champ for the longest I go with GSP.

Maybe, I thought Diego had a chance but he was crushed. Edgar looks pretty slick on the feet but doesn't seem to pack anywhere near the power BJ does. Power, plus BJ's ability to take a punch and I don't see this fight being competitive even though I do like Edgar a lot.

How do you expect Frankie to even have a chance in this fight?
Im a big Edgar fan but Frankie will not be able to outwrestle BJ, and as good as Edgar's boxing has gotten BJ's is better and Frankie doesnt have the power to expect a flash KO from nowhere (especially on BJ who is hard to hit and even harder to hurt).

GSP will dominate his weight class the longest, boring as he may do it. dont freak out GSP nuthuggers..yes, hes ridiculously talented, but a finisher he is not, and excitment is something that has become more and more a stranger to him with every fight. Glad to hear people giving props to Edgar. Hes earned his shot as much as anyone else at 155 and i will be rooting for him. dont start....i know he'll lose...but **** it....WAR EDGAR!!!

Not to be an ass about this, but I hear the same old song and dance every time BJ fights, people said Sherk was too strong, Florian would out strike him, Diego would set to fast a pace and have too much cardio. Frankie is just going to be another notch for BJ at 155, sorry.

I could be proven wrong, I correctly believed that BJ would win over Diego, although I did not expect Diego to be dominated the way he was, so I could be proven wrong here.

But I think Frankie's speed and movement on the feet is slightly better than BJ's, I think he could land more strikes as he is a hard guy to catch, no doubt Penn has more power but I think this fight could easily go the distance, nether fighter will have a problem with cardio in the later rounds you would expect.

I predict this will be a stand up fight since I think if it was to go to the matt they could cancel each other out, and I just think Edgar will land more shots which could end up been the deciding factor in a decision.

I can see the fight going something like that, but I believe BJ will land the more significant shots, likely rocking Edgar at some point. And if BJ felt he was being outpointed on the feet he would become appropriately desperate and find a way to turn the advantage in his favor.

I wouldnt be surprised at all to see this fight go the distance, I just think BJ is so good at so many things that he will definitely find a way to win it no matter what.

If it becomes a grappling match I say Penn by RNC

The best challengers at LW are more complete MMA fighters than the best challengers at WW.

GSP is the third best fighter out of the group and he can have the longest streak if he wants it just because WW is a division of one dimensional fighters. If GSP had to fight the mix of talents of different disciplines that Andy has to he would have lost already.

yeah i kinda agree, I think the longest to go on would be Anderson Silva, then BJ Penn , and then GSP. GSP is agreat fighter but hes a puss.y, im sure if he had more confidence in his standup he wouldn't have to dry hump his opponent for 2 rounds and then makeout withthem for another 3, he definitely has the skill set I just wish he would use it more often, and because of this when he finds a physically stronger opponent whos almost as good in wrestling hes going to lose.

I'd love to see GSP literally kill you in the cage. Go away.
