would it not be shamrock considering his years of contribution to the sport? has anyone else been more successful in their career than him? if so Im not aware so I ask because I went several years without watching the ufc again so fill me in if there is someone that was better, otherwise I assume it is shamrock.

Shamrock is definitely one of the top candidates, but there are people with more successful carreers. Since the weightclasses were introduced to the UFC he has certainly become one of the most accomplished.

I think that there are some other very successful people that we have to look at, these are in no specific order:
1) Randy Couture (not exclusively as a heavyweight)
2) Andrei Arlovski
3) Tim Sylvia (With AA and Sylvia it depends on which you think is better)
4) Dan Severn
5) Bas Rutten (successful inside and outside of the octagon)
6) Tank Abbott (the entertainer)

But yeah, Ken Shamrock is up there on my list.

do you know each of their records? the greatest could be considered by who has the most wins, or who has the best win to loss ratio depending on how one would want to look at it. :dunno:

The best heavyweight MMA fighter in not just UFC history but in the whole world in my opinion would have to be Andrei Arlovski, he is definitely the most dominant and most explosive heavyweight mixed martial arts fighter ever.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the pitbull too. He's as much of a showboater as anyone else.

Record wise, I think Ken Shamroch might be the best of our candidates, but then we have to look at the open weight competitions and then we have to give it to Royce. I like to make this more of an objective thing, that way we can argue and make life more interesting.

10 years?! How do you figure this? Shamrock never one a single Ultimate Ultimate. He never even one the UFC HW title unless you are counting his Superfight title.

I would say that back in the day my vote would have to go to Mark Coleman. That guy was one insanely dominant UFC HW champion in his prime. Today I would go with Arlovski.

well i wouldnt say mark coleman it is true he was very good but shamrock in his prime was a fuckin beast shamrock did dominate pride for a long time my freind coleman wasnt as dominant has shamrock as i recall did robbie lawler once fight coleman i am sure he did. when i sead hye dominated mma for 10 years i meant in mma overall he commpeted oll over the world very rarly losing for many years he was very dominant in his carrer and thats why he was givin the name the worlds most danguorus man. he retired and his ruturn fight was ageinst tito he hasnt been as dominant latly as he once was

but coleman olso very good shame they never met would have made a good fight and i agree wit you adrei aloski is the best heavyweight at the moment
