Hey guys, so i was thinking, what do you think was the biggest news story in mma history? that made a huge impact, especially on the forums?

1. UFC's acquisition of Pride FC
2. The Death of Evan Tanner
3. Fedor signing with M-1/ Randy vacating the belt
4. The death of Charles "mask" Lewis
5 Other

Of those options the UFC buying Pride is the biggest, but there are way better choices for biggest story than some of the others. The collapse of Affliction, Brock Lesnar's entire career, success of The Ultimate Fighter, just to name a few.

I went with other. The 3 that come to mind are the shit storm caused by the early UFC's in terms of Senators like McCain coming out against MMA. It was bid news and really lead to more rules being implemented and MMA being recognized and sanctioned in a lot of the U.S.

The Ultimate Fighter. Probably had the single biggest impact in terms of the rise of popularity of MMA.

UFC 100. There was a lot of mainstream media coverage for this event. I don't remember seeing as much either before or since. I would think Brock fighting for the title had a lot to do with it.
