Does anyone know if there has been a doctor's report on bj's ribbs. I have seen the posts that say he said what he did. I think he did by the way he sucked so bad in the third round but it could be just an excuse. So i was wondering if anyone has read an official doctor's report.

I have to agree with you. It was amazing how little BJ in the third round resembled BJ in rounds one and two. I was thinking that Hughes would be gassed because of the bloodflow cut off to his brain from the triangle choke but the reverse happened. I was totally surprised and the potential rib injury makes a lot of sense to me given that situation.

I've looked on the net and haven't found any official report yet although I think there must be one somewhere from the fighting commission. It's probably because I don't know where to look. Anybody else find anything?

Yeah let us know if you find somehting. BJ looked way too different to just be gassed but you never know how hard he was holding those subs. That can take a lot out of you. He certainly was giving it everyhting he had though. Just wish he had more.

I did hear that the x-rays showed that his ribs were not fractured or broken, other than that I don't know.

but he didn't fracture or break them he seperated them or something like that. Which would be very painful. Would that show up on a x-ray.

I figured that he just gassed considering he had the fight on rather short notcie. I really hope theres a HughesBJ3 even though BJ lost I believe if he gets enough conditioning in he can dominated hughes. If theres gonna be a ShmarockOrtiz3 than there better be a HughesBJ3.

I thought he was gassed as well, It seemed to me that he went all out to pull off and hold that submission he had. Im sure contracting your muscles like that over 30-40 secs is quite energy depleting. I too would like some solid medical evidence.

anyone whoe does MMA has been gassed and know whats its like (me for example) and Bj to me looked more then gassed, anyone can say what they want but i too would like to see some medical proof, he looked slightly gassed and pretty hurt.

BJ Penn doesn't make excuses.If he said there was a rib injury ,than there was a rib injury.I think we all saw and realized(Matt Hughes included) that BJ was the better fighter and would win a rematch.

I agree with steve d. I haven't fougth mma but i have fought more then one match in judo. He looked way more then gassed out. He look hurt.
