Has anyone used or heard of the move called the "can opener" my trainer had me in a full mount and he got his right arm behind my neck, I was about to roll him because he was a little off to his left side, but then he put his left fist into the side of my neck and with his right hand drove his fist into my throwt!
That was the first time Ive seen that move. Its not hard to defend once you know what it is, but if they get you it hurts like HELL

Yeah, I've found that when you're in full guard it's a pretty good way to power through. That's the straight canopener, a la Mark Coleman.

What your trainer did to you sounds like a slight variation of it, but with the same principle: tear you f*cking head off.

Yeah i saw Jeff Monson submit Marci Cruz with a can opener. he didnt use a fist though...
There are many variations of this technique. If I remember right, Monson just used a straight canopener from mount. No fist required. He could have used one if he wanted to, but he got the job done just fine.

it sounds like a bull dog choke. Its very easy to nullify that choke. It works real well on people that have never seen it before but once you know how to counter it its useless

The can opener is when you have the mount OR are in his guard, you clinch him just like a Mui Thai clinch and pull his head forward trying to make his chin touch the mat through his chest. If he has you in his guard he'll sit out of it to release the pressure. If he's mounted he'll usually tap, unless he can squirm out of it or counter it quickly.

I'm not sure what the proper name is for the "fist crunch" into the jaw pressure point, but I've had it done to me and then used it myself and it W%@#%! hurts when it's done right.

The way it was set up on me was his fist was driving just below my jaw into my neck. Do it to yourself if you are doubting its effectiveness.

looks like a cool easy, simple move for a strong dude....(easy for me to do).....and kerr and coleman made it famous...i think....just a neck crank.
ANd if you are in their guard it will force them to open up or tap, most of the time.

Try not to let him clinch you and if he gets it and stsrts to apply pressure you have to sit out of the guard (basically move your body to uncurl your neck).
