Vitor Belfort

Before Chael Sonnen emerged as the clear cut number 1 contender at middleweight with a victory over highly touted Nate Marquardt, Dana White had a clear name in mind to get the next title shot. A name who despite being a former heavyweight champion and a UFC Veteran has yet to fight for the UFC at 185, that man is Vitor Belfort and.

The Career of Belfort has been through ups and downs but at the present time he is riding a 5 fight win streak with his last 3 contests ending via KO.

While Potential match-ups with Anderson Silva Failed to materilize at 108,109 and 112. Belfort is expected to be in the mix when he returns and a fight against Nate Marquardt could have big contendership implications.

No doubt how my vote went right? :thumb02:
Love that dude to come into the UFC at 19 years of age and just start blowing people away was amazing. He's had ups and down but i think he can only bring interesting and exciting fights to the 185 division. :praise01:

Nothing but <3 for Vitor. Beatiful boxing with insane hand speed combined with great ground game. A true mixed martial artist who really revitalized his game in last couple of years. Shame we don't get to see him sending Silva to lalaland yet, but that time will come eventually unless Maia ends up choking Silva out. :)

I like vitor because he can knock out anyone (almost) and he's been around forever (cant believe he's only 32).

But there are a few things about him that Im not a fan of:

- I was put off by his reaction to Randy's inability to continue in their first title fight. He's celebrating like he just knocked out the champ, when he caught him with a freak grazing punch that sliced Randy's eyelid.

- I hate his entrance music.

- I remember one fight where he came out to his normal music, but at the beginning of it there is someguy screaming about (paraphrasing now) 'Dear God, please give vitor the power to destroy his opponents'. I dont remember exactly what it said, but I do remember it being beyond creepy.

Still, I love the guy, I guess.

I don't care for him AT ALL. I'm amazed when people say he's a bigger draw than Henderson or Marquardt. There are few fighters that I could care less about than Vitor Belfort.

I'm a 'don't care' voter on this one simply because there isn't a nicer put middle ground option. Don't love the guy even though feel for him when he goes through what he does, don't hate him even when I watch him ktfo my favorite fighter. He's just a fighter that is fun to watch and I'm glad he's in mma.

If you like explosive striking he's one of the originals. Vitor has seen the ups and downs of MMA and he's still around to compete on a championship level. He's a future legend of the sport.

Don't really care, one fight since he returned, so we'll see.

I like that the only guy who has been hated is Tito, need to do Machida next.

I like the guy I see a lot of myself in him. Not so much the immense power, speed or badassness but in wasted potential.

i thought there was more to discuss on Vitor, so to spark things back up what's your fave Vitor moment?

Owning Wandi was epic.
Definitely the Lindland knockout. Before that fight, people assumed that Lindland would grind out a victory via GNP. How wrong were they? Not only was it a spectacular knockout, it also brought Vitor back as a major threat in the middleweight division.
