Not sure if this is the right section for this thread but I guess its considered training.
So I've been doing mma for a while now and I've noticed one of my friends when he fights its like he's a whole different person. He's the nicest person I know but when he puts the gloves on and the fight starts he's so aggresive and its like he blocks everything out and hits don't phase him. Its actually kinda scary to spar with him because its like he gets stronger when he gets hit. I asked him about it and he doesn't even realize it happens, I was wondering if there is a way to attain this mindset through training or if it just comes with experience or if you have it or you don't?

11 long years out here. Well I've been doing research on this and there's all sorts of different things people are saying. Some say you gotta overcome your fears and it has to do with your mind associating a punch with pain. I'm just gonna keep it in my mind when I'm sparring and I agree its pretty much fight or flight, either you get in or get out.

sad to admit but some fighters out there are scared to get hit, and some of them never grows out of it, some people are made for scrapbooking and not fighting. When you are a fighter you have to accept the fact that you hit and you get hit, part of the game. Once you accept the fact that you will get hit and you deal with it well, than you will never fight the same way.

Yeah but its a hard drive. But there's a place in town that I go to its got a little mma class and karate classes. There also another dojo but they're more kata focused. And there's a mma fight club on the marine base now but its lacking in skilled fighters and its not that great of an enviroment to train in.
