I am a hardcore UFC fan, but Dana White pisses me off! I just heard that the Liddell vs. Silva fight has been called off because Dana white can't reach an agreement with Pride...................DAMNIT DANA WHITE!!!!!!! This would be the BIGGEST cash cow for both UFC and Pride, he needs to pull his head out of his ass and stop being so stubborn. I also hear that he has threatened anyone who associates with the IFL will not be associated with the UFC, like Pat Militiech and all his fighters, that means no Matt Hughs no Tim Sylvia, no Jens Pulver, or Robbie Lawler, damn Dana thats alot of your top fighters!!!!
I love the UFC but Dana white is making some stupid business moves and I wish the owners would fire him.

Anybody have any thoughts?

Dana can't take away the contracts of the top miletich fighters. Part of that is because it would cost him too much money, second is that he can't just terminate Hughes' and Sylvia's contracts. They don't have the right to terminate unless he has a lot better reason than associating with Miletich.

As for the Liddell/Silva fight, it cost him alot of money and I'm pissed that it won't be happening.

How can you blame him for that when we don't even know what the exact problem is. What if Pride wants to take 70% of the winnings and he won't do it. There's alot of if's in this situation and you shouldn't go pointing fingers at people because you read an article by someone else about the event not happening. Dana White also didn't threaten IFL, he supports IFL. He said IFL was one of the reason's MMA has evolved so well. What he said was is that he isn't going to change his fight dates because the IFL has a same fight that night and if fighters don't like it thats to bad. Its not like the UFC should revolve around the IFL or Militech Camp because they wan't to do both. You suck it up and ****ing deal with it. For Pat it's like haveing to jobs, sometimes you have to make sacrafices to do something, and for him to fight in the IFL he's going to have to miss Pulver and Hughe's fight.

So please for the love of god, realize that are two sides to every story. Just because the fight MIGHT, MIGHT, not happen doesn't mean its Dana White's fault.

Well said Spit! The origial post sounded more like hearsay. Does anyone really believe he would kick all the Miletich guys out?

Whoa Whoa Whoa, I do realize that there are two sides to every story and there may be some underlying circumstances that I am not aware of here, but one thing is for sure, Dana White DOES NOT support the IFL, he said quote "anyone associated with the IFL will no longer be associated with the UFC" White and Militiech are involved in a legal dispute over the matter. Dana White have told some of the press that he supports the IFL, but that proves my point right there. He is a snake. He is your typical boxing manager/fight promoter(which he used to be) Compare him with Don King, they both talk a mean game, all the while screwing whoever to stay on top.

When is the last time you heard some good press about Dana White? Or anyone say anything nice about him?:dunno:

Most of it is hearsay, it was not presented as fact. Those are the rumors that are floating around right now, some based on facts/interveiws, but mostly hearsay. But when Dana White says Quote "anyone associated with the IFL will no longer be associated with the UFC" Pat Militiech being a coach and a fighter in the IFL, one can assume that He and his fighters would fall under that category.

Well he promised us this fight. We were all pissed because of the Shamrock/Ortiz early stoppage so he promised us a good fight. Now its not happening. I have no trust in him what so ever. Whatever match he might announce from now on could be just a fraud like this one. Everyone on the board were debating who would win and looking forward. How do we feel now? Terrible, Dana.

Thats my whole point........I myself agree with the stoppage of the Ortiz/Shammy fight, but it was almost like Dana White had a panic attack when the big fight did not go as planned so he anounced a fight that was not official. Now that fight seems to have fallen through, an I am pissed!

thing is no ne of us know the details as to why the fight was called off.. for all we know Dana is the only one trying to make it happen it could be the Pride side that is not wanting it to happen.. SO until we have the factsDana is innocent until proven guilty.. greanted It was in poor taste to announce a fight that was not 100% set in stone to happen... obviously pride had ot have shown interest if Dana made the announcement.. for all we know since it is supposedly run by the yakuza they could be doing this to discredit the UFC right before they make thier own move into Vegas... Gods I love conspirciry theories

Yeah he is innocent until proven guilty, but really who do you think is guilty here? The CEO of Pride is making public statements that his fighters will "devour" UFC fighters. I think it is safe to say that he wants this match up to happen. I think Dana White is so scared that Chuck will lose to Vanderlei and his LHW title would be held by a fighter from another organization that he backed out, using business as an excuse. I think its cheap.

P.S. Chuck would win anyway.

The pride CEO made that statement with a good reason. He was talking about, mostly, the heavyweights. And the Pride heavyweights (Fedor, Barnett, Nog, Crocop) really would destroy guys like Sylvia and Arlovski.

As for how Chuck/Wandy would go, after the way Chuck was crushed by Rampage, it's hard for me to believe that he'd be much more successful if he returned to the ring against the Pride lightheavyweight champ. He might do better if the fight took place in his home court, as opposed to the Pride ring, but Chuck is a pit fighter, he should be more adaptable than he was against Rampage.

I was just saying that the Pride CEO would want this to happen. But since you brought it up, I really don't think its that simple, Arlovski and Sylvia would do well against those guys, Jeff Monson could submitt/overpower any of them(not saying he would beat all of them but he is very capable) and UFC's lower weightclasses would absolutely dominate.

I personally thing any weight class other then Heavyweight would dominate Pride probably.

I mean lets say they're was a ppv and you got the top 3 guys to rep your weightclass. Someone will have to do pride's weight class fighters, i don't watch much pride outside of youtube.com lol

HW- Tim Syvlia/AA/Jeff Monson (3 solid fighters who stand a chance)
LHW- Chuck Liddell,Tito Ortiz, Forrest Griffen (im kind of going out on a limb on the griffen one, but he put up an amazing fight against ortiz and probably in some minds could have won the fight).
MW- Rich Franklin, David Lausiou(sp?), Anderson Silvia/Mike Swick/Nathan Marquet (all 3 are close to the 3rd best right now, i think its just a base on your opinion.
WW- Matt Hughes, George St. Pierre, BJ Penn
LW- Sean Sherk, Kenny Florian, Jens Pulver/Spencer Fischer/Joe Stevenson (all are a 3rd place tie assuming the fighters in 155 we know are commited to it.)

Those are some HELL of a good lineups

Well Pride and UFC have different weight classes so I'm not sure how it would all match up.

UFC
1. Lightweight: 146 to 155 pounds
2. Welterweight: 156 to 170 pounds
3. Middleweight: 171 to 185 pounds
4. Light Heavyweight: 186 to 205 pounds
5. Heavyweight: 206 to 265 pounds

PRIDE
1. Lightweight: less than 160 pounds
2. Welterweight: less than 183 pounds
3. Middleweight: less than 205 pounds
4. Heavyweight: more or equal to 205 pounds

So some UFC welterweights could be fighting Pride lightweight and some UFC middleweights could be fighting Pride welterweights, so you can't match them up by class very easily.

if you can not match them by class just go by weight..

Ya but i was saying that for people who put the top guys in each class and compare them to the top guys in each class in the other organization.

If we were going by weight though, i'd still take UFC's top 2 or 3 fighters overall to beat pride in the octagon.

I think if they fought PRIDE rules it might be different...maybe.. but i still think UFC's WW/LW/MW is MUCH MUCH more strong then Prides.

And personally those are my favorite weight class's. I like all the action they have, unlike some of the HW fights i see.
