serious question not trying to be an ass but the dancing around did look like part of the capoeira style. I don't really know this capoeira stuff but have seen videos on youtube and silva did uses it a lot in his footwork.

Honestly thought it was a joke post but if you are being serious I'll bite, I'm not 100% sure about it but I don't think so, I think he was just being a tool and dancing around.

very little but yeah.....whoever said he was being an asshole.....ever heard of the pot calling the kettle black....Maia talked before this fight he stated he would be bringing the belt home with him.....sure

Anserson outclassed a guy that didnt belong in there and all you are really seeing is a guy(anderson) getting more and more comfortable in the cage.....

He wasnt being an asshole, you must have missed the show of respect before the fight he was on his knee's.....

get a clue....

He was changing his footwork and head movement and throwing MT techniques out of it which completely confused Maia he had no idea where those kicks were coming from. He was doing a lot of stuff that was solely taunting but a lot of it was to **** with Maia's head and confuse him also.

Like every title challenger says? I don't see how that warrants Silva's behavior.

There was more talk than that I just posted it on the other thread....Maia was supposed to school Anderson on the ground and have enough stand up to get the fight there...well he didnt....he def was outclassed and i think he is pissed about it, again i also think Anderson is just becoming more and more of a better fighter he feels untouchable....

I'll be honest and say I was laughing my ass off at first at the way silva was making maia look like a flatfooted fool. But I assumed it was about to be followed up by a serious KO.

At some point the clowning went on too long and Silva refused to go in and finish the fight. Silva seemed upset that maia wouldn't fall for the bait and Silva himself refused to just use his phenomenal skills to finish it.

A lot of people are saying that silva didn't feel challenged, and there's clear evidence to suggest that's true. But I have yet to see a good reason why silva kept running around the ring, other than the fact that he was content to just let it go to a decision.

Exactly CC

I really don't know, what to say about his performance last night.. but from now on :dunno: I doupt that anybody in the World can beat or even challenge this guy. It's ridiculous on how good he truly is!
I don't see how anybody can argue his greatness!!!

I truly believe he is untouchable right now at this time in his career.

I saw it, then for 5 rounds I watched him sit and make a mockery of a professional fighter. Getting on your knees doesn't negate the fact you tried to embarrass him in the most unprofessional way for 25 minutes.

If you're better than somebody then finish him and show some proper fighting dominance. Everyone knows Silva is on a whole other planet from Maia, he shouldn't have been in there but that's no excuse.

Dancing around shouting at him for 5 rounds is NOT respectful.

Ive been training capoeira for 5 years now under one of the best mestre's in the world (Angolan styled) and I can say that while the essence of his footwork in that fight may resembled capoeira....we are far more disciplined than that.
