GSP actually fought his fight and tried to submit Hardy. When criticized, GSP took it like a pro and apologized for his performance.

Silva danced around never intending to finish the fight. Afterwords he said he had nothing to apologize for. Yeah we can sit here all day and say Maia should have never been in the ring with him, but come on, if you feel that way then finish him quickly so you don't get bs matches like that anymore.

I think Dana has to put Silva against Vitor or Machida next. I know he doesn't want to fight Machida, but now he's got something to prove.

GSP is a better fighter overall then silva. I believe he feel more comfortable with is stand up and ground game then silva. Silva is afraid to hit the ground so he prefer to clown around and pick is shot from distance( what happen to is thai clinch). who u rather watch.. Last 5 fight of silva or gsp

GSP is probably a better overall fighter but Silva has some MAAAD CRAZY hands. I think its humanley impossible to be that accurate with that type of power. I still think GSP will win the fight whenever it does actually happen. GSP is fast on his feet as well and his takedown are lightning quick as well.

I can also see a point being made for Silva though, He is using that same formula that GSP uses for his ground game, use their weakness against them and its always striking. If you cant take him down then why should he follow you down? GSP will be one of the first to take him down and KEEP him down without getting subbed.

LMAO, is that a serious question....everyone would take the last 5 fights of silva to watch over gsp....gsp is the most boring fighter to ever fight in the octagon since the serra lost, anderson has put on the most crazy performances in ufc history over his last 5 fights, he's done things other fighters can't even dream of doing...please tell me this wasn't a serious question??

silva is afraid to hit the ground???....he wasn't afraid to hit the ground with hendo or lutter....everyone is afraid to hit the ground with maia, it goes to the ground and silva or anyone loses 9 out of 10 times...not everyone is scared of dan hardy's striking, hell mike quick swick wasn't even scared of hardy's striking, marcus davis wasn't scared of dan hardy's striking, yet gsp was so scared, and his corner was so scared, they told him to not improve his positon at all, and he basically just layed there for the most part, no gnp, no postering up, no improving position, he was even scared to get hit when hardy was on the bottom of him, gsp can't even hope to ever be half the fighter anderson is, gsp doesn't have a ounce of fighter spirt in him, he's a wrestler, nothin more, he needs to go wrestle for the olimpics so we don't have to watch that shit anymore.........

Think about it for a second guys...Why the hell would Dana put GSP against Silva now. Chances are Silva would dance around GSP to avoid takedowns and win the fight. Now, how does Silva winning benefit the UFC? Their biggest draw GSP loses and the other big draw Silva puts on another boring fight.

Demian himself put it really well - "He outstriked me the first 2 rounds, and when I finally felt the fight, he walked away with the points"
Not 100% precise, but something along those lines.

So, you want Anderson to give Dana highlight real performances when he fights unworthy opponents, so that Dana can keep feeding him unworthy opponents, and Silva will keep delivering?

Or.

Silva could win easy fights by half assing them and send a message to Dana telling him not to waste his time.

Edit: Welcome, I'm new here too.

I'd disagree with that. Silva's last 5 fights are Maia, Griffin, Leites, Cote, and Irvin. The Cote fight was mediocre, Maia & Leites fights sucked ass as bad as the Nate Quarry vs. Starnes fight. Irvin fight was pretty good while the Griffin fight was awesome.

GSP's last 5 are Hardy, Alves, Fitch, BJ, and Serra. The Hardy fight sucked, Fitch fight was awesome, Alves, BJ, and Serra fights were pretty good.

Of Silva's last 5 fights, the only ones I'll rewatch are Griffin & Irvin unless someone holds a gun to my head, of GSP's, I'll watch them all except the Hardy fight.

diffrent taste i guess, but i'd never watch any on the last gsp fights exept the fitch fight(which i'd watch everyday of my life if i could), i find gsp's ground work extremllly boring...i'd rather watch paint dry.....and i'm a huge fan of kurt pelligrio, maia, brock's ground game, tyson griffen, people that actlly do things when they get the fight there.....fitch and gsp i can't stand.

even though cote didn't put up much of a fight, anderson still did things that other fighters can't do in that fight, and he put a beating on cote....he couldn't do anything to make lietes fight more excited, no one could have, he kept falling to his back.....the maia fight was more entertaining in the first 3 rounds, than anythig gsp did against hardy in 5 rounds.

I gotta laugh at all the GSP love. Hardy is not good at anything. Maia is at least great at BJJ. Silva did more to finish Maia than GSP did Hardy.
Did you even watch the GSP Hardy fight? Are you serious? trolling?

How did GSP not try and finish the fight? I guess those armbars and kimauras were all in attempt to keep the fight going for 5 rounds?

I dont even know why josh is wasting his time there are a lot of gsp fans that let their sexual preference cloud their objectivity, to try to reason with ppl of that ilk would be fruitless

Anderson Silva is not a true champion his last few fights have been mediocre at best his performance last night was disgraceful and i was a big Anderson silva Fan but after the crap he pulled last night ive lost all respect for him. Difference between him an GSP is that GSP is a true champion who even though he didnt finish hardy he put on a dominating performance and tried to finish the fight but wasnt able to but still put on a dominating. Anderson acted like a jackass really hope when he fights Sonnen he loses.

Anderson Silva fights > GSP fights. I will continue to pay for Silva fights even after his recent fight. I walked out on the Penn vs St. Pierre 2 and haven't watched GSP fight since. I find his lack of activity and weak pitter patter punches on the ground extremely boring.

I am excited the whole way through GSP fights there is always something going on, whether or not you recognize it.

Anderson Silva however, CAN put on a good show. But against Leites and Maia I couldn't even watch, and I love every fight. But those fights couldn't even be considered fights.

Don't get me wrong, I love good ground game chess matches ex. Stevenson vs Sotiroupolous. But GSP just isn't very active, maybe I'm missing things like you said but I don't think I am.

In all fairness, the Leites fight was completely Leites fault. Granted the Maia fight was majoritarily, if not all, Silva's fault but it's hard to think that because Leites was flopping on his back every 4 seconds that it was Silva's fault.
