So basically i just found out that i have flat feet, and i want to know the disadvantages of flat feet, and how it affects physical activities, sports, training and such things, and if it would make me any less of an athlete when compared to someone with normal feet

I've got the same problem. It can lead to problems all up your body, the flat feet turn your knee's in, which puts pressure on your hamstrings, which tightens your lower back and so on up to the neck.

However,if you keep flexible you should avoid most of the problems.

Always good to go and speak to a specialist though, they do some good insoles which can stop most of the problems.

I had alot of trouble when I was still growing because of my flat feet but nothing for a while now, I do wear arch support things for my work shoes but not in my trainers.

hope that helps - go and see a specialist if you get any leg, foot or back pain though.

when would this pain be felt(what would trigger the pain), and how painful is the pain

They are not working perfectly. They can not running perfectly also they can not take seat perfectly. Flat feet people not eat calories food. They have not eat sugar food. They have many problems with daily routine work.

grehamjones, you are making perfect sense :) cannot seat properly - I thought he said feet not backside !

There are many notable MMA fighters with flat feet - Randy couture and Fedor, I believe.

In your traing try to circle the cage, ring or on mats on your toes for 3 * 3 mins rounds. Having a flat feet in MMA is not as serious as in boxing.
