In the aftermath of the last nights event, the one thing people are now keen to find out is how well it did on CBS.

The early viewing ratings are now starting to trickle in and the news is that during the prime-time slot between 9-11pm the show pulled in an average of 3.79 million viewers.

Bear in mind that this does not yet include the 11pm to 11.30pm time slot when the main event was shown. This figure won't be known until Tuesday but should raise the overall average.

I'm still a UFC guy... but I hope strikeforce does well. The competition would be great for the public... and it's nice to enjoy a show for free on regular TV. I enjoyed the show last night... the only thing that was hard for me was the half hour of commercials before the main event... lol

The card was better than ALOT of the UFCs.

That is because they stacked this card with Fedor making his debut.

Look at their most recent and upcoming cards because of this.

Most Recent
Gina Carano vs. Cristiane Santos
Renato Sobral (c) vs. Gegard Mousasi
Gilbert Melendez (ic) vs. Mitsuhiro Ishida
Mike Kyle vs. Fabricio Werdum
+Prelims

Upcoming
Cung Le vs. Scott Smith
Ronaldo Souza vs. Matt Lindland
Robbie Lawler vs. Jason Miller
Muhammed Lawal vs. Renato Sobral
Cristiane Santos (c) vs. Marloes Coenen

The UFC not only has many more events but their caliber is much higher and although this was a good card it still wasn't as good as when the UFC sets up a stacked card.

That's really not great considering the TUF fight between Kimbo and Nelson was seen by 5.3 million viewers on Spike tv. The first EXC event on CBS featuring Kimbo did 6 million.

Most fans in the United States only know MMA as the UFC and it will take time to get fans to watch both.

In Russia we got the main event on our major TV channel (Channel One) for free, but unfortunately that wasn't live.
