I was at Wal-Mart last week and I found Extreme Fighting Two Disc Set for $7.50. I bought it and I can definitly see how the sport evolved over the years. These were bad match-ups. For instance, they pitted a 205 pound Carlos Newton against a 280 Jean Riviere. After seven minutes into the fight, Newton taps out because of exhaustion. I be worn out to if a man who was 75 pounds heavier just laid on me. They did explain how the sport was illegial in New York and Canada and how the promoters took extra precaution not to get caught! If you saw this DVD set or some of the matches, what were your thoughts on it?

Carlos didnt weigh 205 in that fight did he?? I recall that he was smaller in that fight then he was in the ufc as a welterweight... But you got the disc so you know better than me
I checked, Carlos was 205 for that fight! This was actually his first MMA fight! He didn't do to bad. But he had all that weight on his back! Yeah, Royce could probably come out of that but Carlos couldn't!

Carlos did great in there. If it were to have gone to a judge call he would have got it, To bad for him it were those long rounds. How long was it like 15-20 minute round and he lasted like 10 or something..

(saw it many years ago so i dont recall exactly)

The way battlecade did it was weird! 15 minutes in the first round and 5 minutes in the second round. I think the was some wierd discrepency on the clock as well. In the Carlson Gracie Jr vs John Stine (I think that was his name) match, the round ended when the clock said a 1 min and 22 secs left.
