I don't think GSP will fight 3 times this year.. so they probably wait until the fight between the winner of Fitch/Alves vs. Daley/Kos happened!

Then we will see GSP around December back..:sarcastic11:

I swore I wouldn't watch Fitch fight again, but if Alves can keep it standing and bang with him then it'll be worth it though... however I have no interest in watching Fitch lay on Alves for 15 mins though...

Alves has had one hell of a layoff and Fitch has been busy as of late with fairly evenly placed fights. Fitch will probably take this one aswell. Fitch is just to good of a wrestler for Alves same as GSP was. Even if Fitch has a hard time getting him down with a shot he will just clinch with Alves and look for a slam.

Alves has one option only for this fight and that throw heavy hands as much as possible otherwise he's on his as getting grinded out.

Im soooo tired of people complaining about Fitch yet slobbin all over GSP's nuts when they use the same gameplan. it's become th ool thing to hate Fitch lately for no reason. The dude stays busy no matter what position he's in and is allways looking to advance his position. He may not have much striking or GnP power but he makes up for with incredible wrestling ability.

He may not be able to KO you but he can make you look terrible without needing to and that says alot about a guy.

It will probably end like this.. I guess:confused02:

Fitch/Alves = Title shot!

Kos/Daley winner will fight the winner of Thiago/Kampmann for the next shot!
What happens if Daley and Kampmann win? They've already fought, and Daley's already knocked Kampmann the **** out. I don't actually want to see GSP vs Daley though, it'll just go exactly the same way as GSP-Hardy, just that Daley would get finished. GSP would actually have to avoid Daley's stand-up, as he's a genuine beast (not a UFC-hyped beast like Hardy), so GSP's just going to be constantly taking Semtex down.

Yea GSP vs. Daley would be the worst fight ever! I don't even understand why Thiago get's Kampmann.. this matchup just makes no sense at all. But maybe it's made to give Thiago another win on his record, to push his name a little further.

The chances that Kos and Thiago will lose are close to zero in my mind. So I don't think we have to worry about that lol^^ but if it really happens, then the matchmaker from the UFC messed it up bigtime again!

Wait, you don't think Daley has a chance at beating Koscheck?

Not really! If Kos uses his strenght and sticks to the gameplan (wich I truly believe he will), then Daley will look like Hardy or even worse. But if Kos let's his ego out, then Daley has a great chance.

From the UFC111 press conference:

“I’m working on something right now that I can’t talk to you guys about because I don’t have it done yet,” White said of the Koscheck-Daley fight, which takes place May 8 at UFC 113 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. “But it has to do with that fight, so we’ll see what happens.”

With rumours floating around about the winner of Kos vs Daley to coach TUF12 opposite GSP, I think it's looking like one of these 2 will indeed get the next shot.

The next few days will reveal all I'm sure.

Kos is far too arrogant to completely avoid standing with Semtex. Koscheck stood with the hugely over-rated Anthony Johnson, so I see him doing the same with Daley. Koscheck's not really used his wrestling to dominate guys for a long-time, and Paulo Thiago proved that if you catch Koscheck he goes down. I see Semtex taking it by brutal KO in the 1st.

I truly believe even a guy like Kos has enough brain and dicipline to finally understand what he need to do. And I mean this guy is very close to get another shot at the Title. You don't let that takin away from you just like that. He knows Daley is a fish on the ground and a shark on the feet, everybody knows that.

But if Kos really tries to stand with Daley, then I relinquished all hope in him!

He learned from his mistakes! And he was getting the better of Thaigo, so why should he not have sticked to the striking??

Was it in the pre or post fight press conference Soojo??:confused02:

Because if he said that in the pre, then I guess he changed his mind completely now. I give you my pledge, that he will never throw Daley in there with GSP now, after he saw what he did to Hardy. This fight would really question Dana's abilitys as a fight promoter!

Daley really isn't that bad on the ground. He has decent TDD, and successfully defended 60% of Jake Shields' attempted takedowns in their fight. He also reversed a Shields arm-bar attempt, ending up in Shields' guard dropping elbows at the end of Round 1. This fight came in '08 too, so he will have improved even more from that fight, and I personally consider Shields to be a better grappler than Koscheck. I'm backing the Semtex to pull out the victory and make it Rough House 2 - 0 AKA.

Shields is a 2 time All-American from Cuesta College, as well as a four year varsity wrestler and state qualifier at Calaveras High School, finished 2nd place at the Amateur Athletic Union National Freestyle Championships, qualified for U.S.A./ Fila Nationals & World Team Trials in both the junior & university men's divisions. Sure Koscheck was an NCAA Div 1 Champion and has better wrestling credentials on paper, but Shields has a ton of experience in wrestling, and fuses wrestling with BJJ as well as anyone in the world. The way he dominated a bigger guy in Mayhem (who has good TDD) is testament to how good his wrestling is. Daley not getting completely owned by Shields 2 years ago proves he's far from a fish out of water on the ground. I'm sure that he'll be training his wrestling hard for this fight too, especially considering what happened to Hardy against GSP.
