Make Anderson Silva fight on free TV. Give us a free payperview (UFC does 1-2 of these a year) and have Silva main event or co-main event again. Make Silva "earn" his way back to payperview main eventing with an impressive performance to build faith in him as the p4p best and true main event payperview fighter.

Your thoughts? What do you want Dana to do to repay the fans? Honestly I was not mad at the fight and feel it's been blown out of proportion to an extent Dana is mainly heated due to this being their first time in Abu Dhabi and Silva pulling this off. If this was in America it wouldn't half as bad as Dana is making it out to be. I feel the Thales Leites fight was by far worse (alot of it had to do with Thales where Maia actually came to fight in this fight and Silva didn't). So with having such low expectations coming into this fight (assumed Maia would pull a Leites) I was actually interested in watching this fight take place live.

Also to your post, anderson was supposed to be facing vitor belfotrt, a striker. Vitor got injured, the fight was called off, what do you expect dana to do in this situation. Who else at middleweight was there to fight silva? Chael couldnt because he was healing, so who else had a legitimate shot at silva? No body other than Maia.

Onto the thread point. I dont know what dana has got up his sleeve here. I thought maybe he could give everyone a free event or maybe more than one event but that would be too predictable and meh. For a moment i actually thought, Fedor? Champions have to defend their belt as well. He had just come off a win at LHW, it was time to defend his belt. How do you know dana didnt ask silva if he wanted to have another lHW fight or HW fight? Maybe he rejected it, vitor pulled out of the fight quite late into the training regime. Any ways this has nothing to do with what the OP wants to discuss, so lets just leave it.

The answer is as clear as day, because there was no one else left in the middleweight division worth of a title shot against Silva, im scratching my head at people not understanding this? Who else in the MW division should he have give it to? Wanderlei silva? Who?

Jon Jones
Little Nog (assuming he beats Forrest)

Letting the fans choose who they want Anderson fight for their $50 sounds good to me.

Silva doesn't need to make anything up to anyone. He easily destroyed the #1 contender, whether he showboated or not, this isn't just sport, it's entertainment and he certainly entertained me. There are always going to be haters.

Maybe he did cross the line a little bit, but he was clearly tired, he did what he had to do to win and to be honest he shown the world how much of a specimen he really is.

However, I do like ZaoSyn's idea of a poll, to let the fans decide who he fights. I'm just not sure the polled fighters would be happy about it. In a way, that's kind of a punishment to them.

I like the Jon Jones or Couture fight idea though. A fight with Silva and Bones would have some of the craziest strikes anyone has ever seen, and couture would at least actually bring it to Silva. Would lose but it would be a forrest like fight and KO.

Randy did great against Lesnar not saying Lesnar is even in the same breath as Silva but lets be honest Randy would actually have a legitimate gameplan. I would love to see Randy get Silva backed into the cage and work his boxing.

Silva is a Ferrari and Randy is a civic when comparing speeds. You can also say that Silva is just as good against the cage as Randy is. Silva's Muay Thai clinch is as deadly as you can get(rich franklin)

To make it up to the fans who are diposed by Silva and angry at him. There's really only one option, make Silva bleed.

Put him in the cage wih the next best striker in the UFC that he can fight. I believe that fight will be determined by Machida v Rua 2. And since he wouldn't fight Machida. Make him fight Rua, win or lose. And if Rua gets the title, and Silva refuses to fight for "Lyoto's belt" as he's refered to it. Ask him for his belt and show him the door. Fighters have some leeway in who they fight, but for him to say he won't fight Rua because Machida would want a rubber match is insulting to his employers.
