....but why hasn't Strikeforce stripped Alistair Overeem of the HW title let? Its pushing two years since he won that title and he has let to defend it!

I believe he intends to fight Fedor in early spring - but we'll see.

I love him as a fighter so it's hard for me to say he should be stripped of the title. But man, two years is a long time. And he's fought a lot in those two years; just not for his title. :(

I think they let him keep it because hes a big name and its not until relatively recently that they added other big names to the organisation who could take the title and be as big a draw as Overeem.

I would fear his roid rage to,
Shhhhh. He's put on a lot of muscle in the last six years, that does not = steroid usage. Look at his face and his body, he's gained a lot of fat as well. This is typical of trying to move up a weight class cleanly.

I recently put on about 20lbs of muscle and 10lbs of weight to fight at WW - it took about six months and a lot of weed/working out. I'm now quite a bit above the BF% that I was. My friend Shawn was moving from about 175 to 190 and I'm embarassed to admit, he didn't do it cleanly. Now he's completely shredded and I'm left trying to diet the fat off. ;)

Plus, Overeem doesn't have the veins or the temperament usually associated with it. Plus, he hasn't gassed in any of his fights at his new weight, so it's obvious he's put on this weight correctly.

He's said he has no problem fighting Fedor in SF (where they do steroid testing).

Of course it's possible that he's using steroids, but it's also possible that Lesnar is. But I hated when people were calling Lesnar out after the HH fight for being a "steroid jockey." It's like, look... he hasn't failed a piss test, ever. Looks aren't everything.

Sorry for going off on ya but it's just as damaging to make joking claims like that, as it would be to write an article on it. Plus you're a mod and a lot of people will believe it if you believe it.

I give Overeem the benefit of the doubt on the steroid issue. Keep in mind he keeps a pretty busy fighting schedule between mma and kickboxing so he has to be in pretty good shape all the time. I really hope this fight between Fedor and Overeem happens, Overeem seems to have all the talent and skills in the world, but he hasnt really fought any decent heavyweights in mma.
