i love the stiff leg dead lift for the back might not make you look bigger but when you picking something up i believe it helps. also supermans i find are great exersise for when you dont have weights.

the lats pull ups are the best weights lat pull down and pull over also works the chest.

remember work your lower back not just the upper. i believe the lowerback very often over looked.

Work out every muscle in your back from hamstrings all the way to your traps. But if I could give you 3 main excersises for back str it would be

1 deadlifts
2 close grip pull downs
3 hamstrings(they aid in your back str... esspecially for picking up)

close grip pulls barely work the back you need to do them WIDE!

I suggest lots of heavybag work. I also suggest doing some work with resistance bands while training striking.

pull ups (dont need to be too wide, shoulder with is enough)
chin ups
deadlifts
dumbell swings
dumbell snatches
sand bag or heavy bag clean and press

In order of importance (imo)

1) Deadlift
2) stiff leg deadlift
3) weighted chins
4) good mornings

Those are the bread and butter you need to develop a strong back and posterior chain. (Hamstrings included)

If you have access to a GHR (glute/hamstring raise) I'd do those as well.

Cheers
Chris
