What exactly did Maia do that made Silva not find his range ? How often does Silva not find his range ? What if he couldn't find his range all 5 rounds, would we have a new MW champ ?

What does finding your range mean anyway ? I'm not sure I buy into it, it seemed like Maia was attacking pretty sloppy in the last 2 rounds and Silva didn't even try to hit him.

OK the rest of the interview was ok but the "Finding the range" BS completely throws doubt to everything Ed just said. A blind three year old with no hands could have found the range with how foolishly Maia was attacking. Saying Anderson Silva, probably one of the greatest and most accurate striker in MMA, can't makes you just seem foolish.

clearly something happened during round 3. When he did engage, Maia would actually land...not much but land nonethless. To me Anderson did more than just look like Starnes in the last two rounds, he actually was ducking. Why? No idea. The uninspired /lost range answer seems to fit. It's such a bizarre event, i don't thin anything but a bizarre answer will explain. He's clearly a very emotional guy. An artiste...

I really don't buy this I couldn't find my range b.s. He sure found his range the first two rounds. It's almost like he didn't want to hurt the poor bastard. Oh well hopefully they put him in with Chael next time, he should get really pissed because Sonnen talks a lot more sh*t than Maia.

The "couldn't find the distance" comment is pretty interesting actually, and normally would seem an obvious fabrication from the camp of such a quality striker. Silva did take a few shots later in the fight, and didn't have the offense he had early. Silva shouldn't have been gassed, because he wasn't expending a whole lot the first half of the fight. He could have been purposely dogging it later, but I wonder if heat stroke might have come into play. High exertion with dehydration can trigger it. Considering the fluids Silva had to cut to make weight, combined with the high humidity, its possible his body started to protest internally. Add in that the manager is leaving the day of that interview, but mentions AS is staying on in Dubai a few days longer.
