Alright, here me out. I think that maybe the U.S. is all out (or close to it) of new UFC quality fighters. TUF 1 had several very good fighters. TUF 2 was pretty decent too but not as good. Tuf 3 had pansies like Noah in it and guy's that wouldn't take a second chance at fighting. If the UFC thought those guys had serious potential, then there getting desperate. They even had to go across the pond to find some one as good as Bisbing. I observe a general decline in skill since tuf 1.
Now we have tuf 4. Dana got frustrated and went to find people whom he knew to be Fighters. My theory is that this country is out of good fighters for the next few years.

respond with agreement or flaming. it's all good

I think Dana just wants to give exposure to the fighters on TUF 4 and not because he is running out of American fighter! Altough it wouldn't be a bad idea to go across the seas to look for fighters!

It's just bad policy only to hire fighters from one country. I do think that Dana is making a smart move by giving Anderson Silva a title shot, and I think that he'll take advantage of it.

No, the US isn't running out of good fighters, they just aren't being exposed.

If you look at alot of Side companies like WEC, RSF, IFA and others they have some good fighters that are on they're way up. Its also hard to judge american fighters from TUF show lol, alot of the fighters go to PRIDE, K1, or even just WEC.

Trust me there are tons of world class fighters in the US, you just have to go outside of Spike TV at 10 at night to see them lol.

I also have a good theory behind TUF 4, i think Dana did it because right now he has to many TUF fighters that he's trying to work into fight cards, and with the TUF people who already fought on cards all they have to do is win, and then they get the title shot, no worrying about hypeing this guys up and makeing sure they can fight other UFC fighters.

World Extreme Cagefighting

International Fight League

there are 2 of them (i ment ifl not ifa),

Personally i have no clue, my buddys have them on DVD's (probably downloaded or TIVO'd, something like that) and i just got over there and watch them sometimes. I usually watch PRIDE,K1, and UFC though but WEC has some good fights and same with the IFL.

Gduff,
I thought I would mention one of the best fighters I have seen was a dude with Vietnamese background ,Hung Le out of Iowa. He was around 185 and had some dominating standup. He could hit me two or three times before I could even think about firing back. I actually saw him knock out a guy with a back fist. It's to bad he decided to become a hand and foot doctor. I hope Dana does bring in more fighters from around the world, it adds with the different styles.

well only 1 guy can be champion so i find it very hard to believe that there are no great american fighters because none hold championships in 2 other organizations that aren't based in Japan.

I mean if your going to talk about K-1 kickboxing, Kit Cope is the best Muay Thai Kickboxer in the world for his weight class. Josh Barnetts pretty damn good and young. I think Forrest Griffens got alot of heart, although i wouldn't call him a super star yet.

I think we need to let alot of the young guys develope. Also alot of american fighters look for WEC, WFA, and UFC to fight in because who wants to really....leave the US? lol

i know if i could get payed a little less and live in america or go over to japan paid a little more but be over there where i have no family, i'd choose the US personally.
