Israel Adesanya just defended his title for an amazing 6th time, a master in striking, he has been able to amass incredible wizardry in the cage. Without a doubt great Adesanya looked to do more he looked to "show off" but was unable to really showcase how great he is at UFC 276.
Meanwhile Jiri Prochazka has destroyed the UFC competition. A newly minted champion Prochazka has yet to defend his gold. He has so far finished every single fight, all three men he faced in the UFC were finished and the spinning elbow KO he landed against Dominick Reyes was his greatest of the three. His victory over Teixeira to win the title showed how Prochazka can fight a war and still win.
The time is now for this war to begin to emerge. Jiri Prochazka vs Israel Adesanya is the perfect fight for both fighters. Prochazka did what Adesanya could not do which is win UFC gold at 205 lbs. Adesanya wants to test himself and to leave the greatest legacy possible.
To do that he needs to finish fights and if not at least go out there and beat the best in the world over and over again until he's ready to go. Adesanya if he can beat Prochazka he not only beats a very dangerous man he becomes the UFC double champion. Something he set out to do once and failed.
If Israel want to be remembered as one of the greatest it would certainly help if he negates his only loss of his career at 205lbs.
