They are just not in the shape needed to compete with the top athletes of the World. The training for Sumo is just not even in the same Universe as the training required to be a top contender in MMA. Basicaly ever time they enter a MMA ring they end up on their back getting punched untill they tap from strikes or get submitted. The Don said:I do not think there is no place for sumos thier biggest problem I think would be in losing thier Ego, You think the Gracies think they are good? talk to some sumo grand champs and such they have egos that would put gods to shame. and they need alot of extra and I mean alot of extra training
I completely agree.rdlviper said:Hopefully K-1 will have some more US events with their big stars, and not just US PayPerView.
DVD's and PPV are good for 'small-time' but if they want to become big-time they have to get on national TV (Spike or something) and have lots of events across the US.
I think it will all come with time.
