K1 BEST BOUTS
“Best Bouts” Premieres On Pay-Per-View September 26th [August 30, 2004] K-1 will showcase a collection of the most memorable ring wars that have occurred over the course of its 12-year existence during a three-hour Pay-Per-View television broadcast beginning at 8 PM Eastern Standard Time (5 PM Pacific Standard Time) on Sunday, September 26th. InDemand, DirecTV, and TVN will all carry the special television event.
“Best Bouts” will include contests that took place between competitors in the sport’s Superheavyweight (200 pounds and above) division between 1993 and the first eight months of 2004. Fights featuring legendary champions Ernesto Hoost, Peter Aerts, and Andy Hug as well as superstars Jerome LeBanner, Ray Sefo, Remy Bonjasky, and Alexey Ignashov will be shown. The matchups that will air are expected to be announced over the course of the next three weeks.
The program is a rare opportunity for fans in The United States to take in a series of historical bouts that were staged during previously non-televised K-1 events overseas.
The “Best Bouts” television broadcast will mark K-1’s third United States Pay-Per-View endeavor of this year. On December 4th, the sport will return to pay television and present the “World Grand Prix Finals” year-end finale live from Tokyo, Japan’s Tokyo Dome.
