I actually believe Carwin will defeat Brock. He has the size and wrestling skill to avoid Lesnar's takedowns, and definitely has the power to knock him out. It will be a test for Lesnar's chin, but he won't pass.:)

Brock is a better wrestler and has bricks for fists, too. He won't try to play patty cake like Mir did, he will get the fight to the ground.
Not much better, plus Carwin has 5XL hands compared to Brock's 4XL. :D
Brock also has a suspect chin, unlike Carwin. BTW, I'm very hyped for this fight.

I see alot of people taking Carwin because they see the wrestling pedigree but don't fool yourself the difference between Division 1 and Division II athletics is fairly large, how many D2 guys do you see in the NFL or NBA compared to D1...yea. I see Lesnar winning a UD. Don't really care who wins but either way it should be a very entertaining fight.

The big question mark for me is how Brock handles the time off. In his early fights he was wild and running around, wasn't too composed. His last couple of fights he really settled down. But with this time off he can go back to his old ways if he is anxious to just fight. Also, I am still concerned about the nature of his illness and how it will effect him.

I am only worried about Lesnar's conditioning, He had a year or so without any training whats so ever, that might cause him harm in the championship rounds.

I mean... look what happen to Tito in his first fight back after having back surgury, He gassed in round 2. Tito may not be a champion ever again, but he was known for his amazing cardio.

otherwise, I have Lesnar taking this. I think he will be able to take Carwin down. Carwin isnt exactly fast, he has amazing power and usually bullies guys in terms of strength...well he wont be able to do that against Lesnar.

Gonzaga begs to differ...
Beat me to it. They've both been rocked and with these two throwing canned hams at each other it's only a matter of who gets hit flush first. My bet is on Lesnar eating canvas due to Carwin's dirty boxing and Lesnar is going to want to put him on the floor.

EDIT:

@Spec

LOL at "it might hurt him in the championship rounds." You REALLY expect this fight to go that far? I HIGHLY doubt that. Like I said, first one to land a flush punch wins.

Gonzaga tagged him a copule of times and failed to really hurt him. Gonzaga was better in that fight, but Carwin is just extremely dangerous opponent.

Carwin is also the taller fighter, with a distinct reach advantage :sarcastic12:
Another one for Carwin.. Just kidding.
(You do realize I was joking when I mentioned Carwin's hands being the difference in a fight?)

I'm taking Carwin, I think he will catch Brock rushing in or possible during a clinch and go for the kill. Carwin appeared fairly quick vs Mir, still not as fast as Brock but not a huge gap like I previously thought. Carwin is probably one of the few guys that could actually get up from a Brock TD, hopefully he doesn't have to though because that's a big if.
I could also see Carwin trying to take this into the later rounds since Brock is coming off such a long break like someone else mentioned with Tito.

I do agree that Lesnar is bigger in terms of frame size, but in terms of strength I don't think he is. I actually think Brock is going to have problems with someone that weighs around the same as him and is as strong as him, just in a more "bulldog" like package.
If Carwin makes Brock pay for shooting in, this will be a very short fight, and I think thats exactly what will happen.

On another note, Shane actually has really decent jiujitsu and with those big hands I dont think brock will have an easy time controlling him even if he does get him down.

You think these two mammoths will go 5 rounds? I see both having cardiac arrest If this goes into the championship rounds.

This will end In the first or second round by either some hammerfists from Brock or a knockout from Carwin.

Id say Its 50/50
I see them both gassing after 3 rounds and neither guy having enough to finish. If Brock comes into the fight in good shape I see him finishing but coming off illness I dunno how he's gonna look or where his cardio will be at

I also think some of you are under-estimating Brock's strength.

Carwin is beastly, no doubt, but Brock will have zero issue taking him down and keeping him there.

This guy tossed around the Big Show like he was a rag doll. The BIG SHOW people!

But Big Show assisted him in his pick-ups...
