Maynard might be a spot too high, but this list looks great to me.

I really wish Diego Sanchez would have stayed at LW.
Diego has to moved back to WW. This is too much cut for him (lost all the speed and energy).

Maynard is undefeated and has last 7 wins in UFC.
I think that Florian is a better fighter, but that is what algorithm has calculated.
Most of their calculated points are very simmilar and they are very close in their score:

Gray Maynard - Kenny Florian

675.5 - 669.7 - CurrScore
204.9 - 203.2 - All Time Score
244.7 - 245.4 - 2yr Score
7 - 6 - 2y_W
0 - 1 - 2y_L
117.5 - 106.3 - 2y_WL points
102.2 - 111.0 - 2y_Opp points
94.0 - 94.0 - Recent Score
3 - 4 - 1y_F
3 - 3 - 1y_W
120.6 - 124.8 - Last4Fgt points

Current Score = AllTime Score + 2 Year Score + Recent Score
+ Last 4 Fights + Win Streak

Fairly awful and random once you get out of the top 10.
It is not random.
There are a lot of variables used to calculate the final score.
Here are more details on those LW scores:

Current Score - AllTime Score - 2yr Score - Recent Score - Last 4 Fights - Streak Points - Fighter

706.4 - 223.2 - 238.0 - 100.7 - 139.6 - 4.9 - Frankie Edgar
691.7 - 233.3 - 230.3 - 91.5 - 136.6 - 0 - B.J. Penn
675.5 - 204.9 - 244.7 - 94.0 - 120.6 - 11.3 - Gray Maynard
669.7 - 203.2 - 245.4 - 94.0 - 124.8 - 2.3 - Kenny Florian
639.3 - 220.5 - 177.0 - 98.6 - 138.4 - 4.8 - Gilbert Melendez
633.9 - 225.6 - 219.9 - 86.2 - 102.2 - 0 - Shinya Aoki
535.0 - 161.0 - 178.8 - 83.3 - 104.3 - 7.6 - George Sotiropoulos
484.5 - 231.4 - 123.4 - 60.6 - 69.1 - 0 - Takanori Gomi

Gomi and Sotiropoulos are there just as an illustration of how can AllTime Score and Last 4 Fights have opposite effect.

Florian should definitely be ranked ahead of Maynard, and maybe even Melendez should be too after this weekend's performance. Aoki should be lowered even further after his awful fight, and i think Rafael Dos Anjos deserves a little more love in the rankings. Benson Henderson from WEC could arguably deserve a higher ranking, too IMO...

I personally think this is one of the better rankings iv seen. Youl never 100% agree on rankings because there really isnt a method yo go about, you just kinda go on opinion. I definitely think Roger Huerta should be a bit higher... and i havent heared of a few of the people once you get past the top 15, but thats ok.

Explain to me why Guida is so far ahead of JZ, Huerta, Noons and Thomson other than just being in the UFC automatically gives you 10 spots above where you belong.

TBH thats the best LW rankings ive seen, i hate the people who have Alvarez and Kawajiri in there top 5, I think they would get destroyed if they fought top fighters in the US, Just like Aoki did and he only fought a barely top 10 fighter in Melendez.

This rating is completely based on results, not emotions.

So let's see results from last 1000 days.
Huerta
Result - Rating - Opponent
Win - 8 - Chad Hinton
Loss - 28 - Gray Maynard
Loss - 28 - Kenny Florian
Win - 21 - Clay Guida
Win - 7 - Alberto Crane

Guida
Result - Rating - Opponent
Win - 10 - Shannon Gugerty
Loss - 28 - Kenny Florian
Loss - 26 - Diego Sanchez
Win - 21 - Nate Diaz
Win - 12 - Mac Danzig
Win - 6 - Samy Schiavo
Loss - 18 - Roger Huerta
Win - 15 - Marcus Aurelio

Huerta had last fight against very week opponent and he was not that active.

ratings for opponents are based on their current ranking and scores.

I don't realy agree with these Rankings.
I think some fighters are placed too high and some are too low.
Examples:
- too high: Miller, Guida, Dunham, Noons
- too low: Benson, Henderson, Josh Thomson, Alvarez (i have him above Griffin any day)

I don't get it: how is Huerta 27?? And Guida 17. And Huerta beat Guida, even though this fight is from 2007. Before he left the UFC he was in the TOP 10 (even top6 in my books, his only losses in the UFC to Florian and a split decision to Maynard). I just don't get that. Guida is entertaining, but he is WAY too high on these rankings imo.

I just think there are just too many UFC fighters in that top. It's a shame no match-ups between most of these fighters are possible at this moment...

OK, let's compare numbers for Guida and Huerta in details.

Rank - CurrScore - AllTime - 2year - RecentScore - Last4Fgt - last Fight

18 - 513.3 - 177.1 - 179 - 71.42 - 84.7 - 31 - Clay Guida
27 - 469.4 - 187.6 - 141 - 57.78 - 81.7 - 27 - Roger Huerta

So, yes Huerta has a better All Time score (187 > 177), but his other scores are not as good as Guida's.
2 year score (last 1000 days) score is Guida 179, Huerta 141.
Last fight for Guida has score of 31 and Huerta 27.

All Time score is what is career rating of a fighter
, but Current Score it heavily time dependent. If somebody is not active enough score will be lover. Also, recent fights worth more.

ratings for opponents are based on their current ranking and scores.

So basically you are saying I am right that this has everything to do with being in the UFC. By over rating people for just being in the UFC it corrupts the system.

Huerta loses to the number 3 and 4 on this list only and drops below someone he beat fairly recently who has worse losses because he is beating UFC midling fighters and cans who give more points based on being in the ufc only.

Does this list not factor in quality losses? How many points does Noons get for beating Amade who has a 4 loss streak but those are against JZ, Alvarez, Noons, and Kikuno. I don't see how you can rationalize a can like Stout being so much higher than Amade because he only fights other mediocre fighters and still loses to a lot of them.

No, you are not right. If somebody comes to UFC from other Promo, he will have same rating as before.
Same thing with Hendo - he has same score in UFC and Strikeforce (at least before he lost from Shields).
The fact is that if somebody is in UFC, he will most likely face better competition, which brings more points.

Regarding Huerta, I already told you that he is ranked very high on All Time list. But on the Current Ranking (those are two separate scores) he is lower because he didn't fight much lately and his last opponent was very bad.
If he goes into Bellator final and then fights Alvarez, he will jump very high. But that is IF and WHEN!
