I will be attending this, its an interesting concept with the east coast tournament and a west coast tournament and the winners fighting with that winner getting a Strikeforce contract.

So overall this was a good show, $65 bucks for a ticket that gave us seating in the gold section, we were one of the first ones in and got in the front row which put us about 15 feet from the cage. The prelims and tournament fights were all good One very questionable stoppage IMO where a guy got rocked right before the buzzer, he was clearly in trouble but IMO should have been saved by the bell.

Macdonald/Horwich was a solid fight, very questionable decision here for me. I am starting to really question the legitimacy of the River Cree Athletic Commission, the bout was scored 30-27, 29-28, 29-28. How the hell any judge could give J-Mac the first round is beyond me, Horwich made him eat knees and put him on his back. The last round was unquestionbly the most one sided of the night with a clear 10-9 for Macdonald. I scored the bout 29-28 for Horwich and even J-Mac looked like he knew he needed a finish in the 3rd and judging by his facial expressions he looked like he thought he lost while Horwich ran around did push ups and tried to show he was still good to go (should be he spent the last 5 minutes basically just trying to hold J-Mac close in his guard.

thanks a lot for that breakdown man.

Jason is a hometown guy, so I've always followed him fairly closely, but it is very saddening to think he may be losing a step or two. I'm one of those people who puts MacDonald vs Maia in my top 5 of all time easily. Good to see he won, but got his ass kicked for 2 rounds by Horwich? (no offense to Horwich)

I'm buzzin, ignore that paragraph if it makes no sense

I wouldn't say he got his ass kicked, it was a rather slow fight with alot of stalling on the ground. I would say Horwich clearly won round 1 and did enough to win round 2. Round 3 was pretty one sided. Horich just clung to Macdonald and held him in his guard for the last round practically doing zero offensively but managing to prevent Macdonald from doing enough to earn a 10-8.

Its funny that you say Mcdonald is a home town boy for you. He is actually a hometown boy for me now. In fact his gym is only 5 or 6 blocks from my house.
