UFC light heavyweight Chuck Liddell says he still expects to fight nemesis Tito Ortiz – he's earned it, after all.

Liddell (21-7 MMA, 16-6 UFC), who coaches opposite Ortiz (15-7-1 MMA, 14-7-1 UFC) on the upcoming 11th season of "The Ultimate Fighter," said it took exactly one week to get motivated for a third meeting with Ortiz at the show's conclusion.

While question marks surround Ortiz's participation on the show – not to mention the location of the traditional post-"TUF" coaches' showdown – the five-time UFC light heavyweight champion said as far as he knows, it's business as usual.

"I've heard the rumors, of course, but from what I understand, [Ortiz] is signed to fight, and he's still going to actually show up and get [the] beating he's supposed to get," Liddell said today during a conference call promoting the 11th season's debut, set for Wednesday at the conclusion of "UFC Fight Night 21: Gomi vs. Florian."

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) reported earlier this month that Ortiz was unable to complete his filming obligations to the show and had been replaced by former middleweight champion Rich Franklin, with Franklin penciled in to face Liddell at UFC 115.

However, Liddell said Ortiz would be at the receiving end of his wrath.

"I think I earned it having to put up with him for seven weeks," Liddell said. "I earned the right to go out there and beat him."

Liddell and Ortiz have shared an icy relationship as two of the UFC's biggest stars. Once training partners, Ortiz called the "Iceman" out at UFC 37.5 after Liddell's win over Vitor Belfort and opened the door to an eventual grudge match.

Liddell went on to defeat Ortiz twice – once at UFC 47 and again at UFC 66 – which at the time were the most successful UFC events to date.

In the opening days of filming for "TUF 11," Ortiz told MMAjunkie.com that Liddell was an alcoholic who needed an intervention from UFC president Dana White to get ready for the reality show.

The statement was an out-and-out insult to Liddell, who fought White's wish for him to retire following back-to-back losses to Rashad Evans and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

"I was taking that fight as a tune-up fight, fighting a guy that I knocked out twice," Liddell said. "Most of the animosity toward him was gone. I don't really deal with him at all, so I was kind of over it. But within a week, he motivated me to want to try to hurt him – and he just continued to do that throughout the show."

Where the pair's third meeting takes place is now in question. As the call took place, a report said UFC 115, the expected home for the "TUF 11" coaches' battle, is being moved from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to Cincinnati, Ohio, as the result of administrative problems with the Vancouver City Council.

Liddell was not asked about a possible location change for the Oritz fight and did not broach the subject.

Ortiz wasn't present on the conference call and has yet to answer repeated requests for comment.

Hm, sounds legit. Wasn't particularly excited to see this fight again but wasn't looking forward to another anti-climactic TUF season so I guess this is good news.

...Gosh, with Tito you never know what to expect. I would have rather seen Liddell/Franklin. Much more interesting, competitive fight. I really think Chuck/Tito 3 is just for the attention and draw. Chuck has Tito's number like Rampage has his. It's about money. Has to be, or maybe somebody just wants to see Tito get KO'd again for the 3rd time. The funny thing is, I still would want to see it as well...:thumb02:

Great, won't mind seeing Tito get punched in his fat head again, though I don't really understand why it has to happen again, it's a pointless fight. They might as well make Chuck sparring a PPV.

hmmm im still not sure on this one. heres the exact quote on chuck about the fight.
"I've heard the rumors, of course, but from what I understand, [Ortiz] is signed to fight, and he's still going to actually show up and get [the] beating he's supposed to get,"

seems like the only thing he's sure about is the fight is still inked. now, why didn't tito show up to this conference, and why hasn't put an end to all the rumors?

i think tito is in fact injured. chuck is now set to face franklin, but the ufc wants to let this news out in their own time. if they tell everyone now, pretty much most interest in the show will be lost from the beginning. they'll most likely announce it on the show itself where rich takes over as coach(if thats what the rumors suggest) announcing it over the show could pull in some nice ratings.

i'd much rather see franklin vs chuck. out of the 3 franklin is going to be the most competitive with top competition. a win over chuck will be good for franklin and would put him in the mix at lhw.

chuck won't TKO tito he doesn't have it in him anymore he is the only person to TKO tito except for frank and when he did finish tito he was the "ice man" while now he couldn't finish wandy and jardine when he had them hurt and tito's big head hasn't gotten any smaller i see a UD but not a huge UD but hell i wouldn't be suprised if tito won

And u know this because???......

Chuck was winning the fight against Shogun/Rashad until he got caught, and those are both top 5 LHW's on the planet... And Chuck was winning in the stand up until the actual KO....

And no matter how many times he loses, the SAME Chuck that throws bombs all day STILL comes in...

And u sit and watch from home and simply say he doesn't have it anymore? Because he beats the top strikers in MMA in the stand up until he gets caught?

Tito's striking was pathetic against Forrest, and his take downs will be pointless against someone like Chuck...

And not only do i know Chuck personally so i know what u just said was crap, but u need to stop talking straight from the ass if u dont know one thing about a fighter....

Let me guess u have this via KO because of all his Super Impressive Ken Shamrock KO's LOL

Do u watch the fights? Or just talk ignorance?

Edit: If Liddel didn't get KO'ed in both fights, YES he was WINNING in the stand up in both...

But ur right Tito will totally win, and it will HAVE to be by KO because he sure as hell aint doing shit on the ground... And his KO record proves how much u know about MMA lol

If u just seriously watched that fight, and saw the clean shots Liddell was landing, and Shogun landed some good shots too, but not as many punches overall as Liddell, and the legs kicks mixed in with some of those shots being the only thing that MIGHT of gave that round to Shogun...

because they both got a take down and both showed octagon control....

But it was a dead even fight and if Liddell simply kept landing more of those clean shots till the end of the round, it could of been his round easy...

But ur a special person so im sure u only saw Shogun hit LOL!!!

And seeing how good Liddell was doing against a fighter that arguably has the best stand up in LHW division, your Tito argument looks really F'ing retarded...

And Ps.... U need help

U got Problems son!

IF Liddell kept landing shots and stayed out of those kicks, that round would of been his if he didn't get KO'ed, which obviously wasn't to case....

And the point being, Liddell still has it in him, even if ignorant people like you sit back and think otherwise.... Ill get a good laugh when Liddell beats the piss out of Ortiz
