I think this will probably be the biggest fight ever in UFC. The only thing I don't understand is that UFC.com states this fight will take place pending Ortiz beating Shamrock. What does that fight have to do with this one. Anyway, I heard that Shamrock is wearing a football helmet for the Oct. 10th fight so my money is on Shamrock.

LOl @ helmet, however even if shammy wins i dont see him fighting liddell next, maybe dana just feels that if he losses to shammy he does not deserve to fight liddell

That's what I'm thinking. He shouldn't have a title shot if he loses to Shamrock.

Just the reason I thought Ortiz was crazy for taking this fight with Shamrock. Now he has NOTHING to gain and everything to lose. He loses by chance to Shamrock and there goes his title shot he has wanted so bad.

even if by sum freak accident that would cause ortiz to loose to shamrock their still gonna have him fight liddell, think about it whats else could they have to end the year with or for their big superbowl show? their pretty much out of top fighters in the LHW. Unless Wanderlei shows up to fight which most likely ain't gonna happen. Dana and UFC are banking too much on Ortiz/Liddell 2 for it not to happen.

the new fight between chuck and tito will be a lot different i dont know why people think it will turn out the same tito has a much better chance at beating chuck now that its for the title because of the 5 rounds instead of 3... we all know tito has some of the best conditioning in mma and the 5 rounds gives him a clear advantage rather than the 3.. if hes able to stand a lil with chuck wear him out get it to the 3rd and 4th rounds he will have a much easier time... just pull off the same thing courture did the first time he faced chuck and it will be a great fight that i can see tito winning

Why would this be the biggest fight ever in the UFC?

For one, no rematch would EVER be the biggest fight in the UFC, especially a rematch where the fight before was completely dominated by one person.

Tito hasent really done anything to earn this shot...so he pounded on Shamrock once again, big deal. Won a very controversial fight to an above average fighter, and is going to beat on poor old Shamrock again for the third time. I mean I whole heartly believe the LHW division in the UFC is the weakest with only a few dominant fighters, but they could have worked out something else.

Ortiz has been, and will always be overmatched by Liddell...Titos main objective during fights is to get the takedown and utilize ground n pound...exactly what Chuck hopes for. I can see this fight ending in the first round by Chuck catching Tito with an uppercut after he sprawls a takedown.

This will probably be a forgetable end of the year main event that will be remembered as the day Tito Ortiz was once again laid out by Chuck.

I'm just sick of one sided rematches. Which is why UFC 64 is going to be the PPV of the year, and will have the fight of the year.

Good point Alex. I guess I am just thinking of it from a money perspective (pay-per-view orders).
Well you may be right about that. Chucks popularity from TUF1 and Titos popularity from TUF3 would definitely bring in the bank, but as far as the fight goes eh...Chuck wins it in the first.

Five round advantage. He didn't get past 2 the last time. The last fight could've been 100 rounds. He can't just stand there and take chuck's kicks and punched and hopefully make a 4 or five rounder out of it. You have to keep chuck working to beat him. The only people to beat him did that. Randy kept him on the defensive side and kept him on the ground to win. The sam as rampage.

“Ortiz doesn’t stand a chance” Did you not see there first fight? Tito went into that fight with the game plan to stand with Chuck (bad game plan!) and lasted into the second round, Rento tried to stand with him and lasted 49 seconds. This time around Tito is not going to try to just stand with him, so actually he will have a better chance than any other LHW fighter in the UFC.

Renato bullrushed Chuck in the hope to get close enough to take him down, he wasn't trying to stand and trade, but he was left with littel choice.

When Chuck finaly looses to someone, it will be to a better standup fighter. His takedown defence is way to good

Have you ever seen Rento fight other than this last fight with Chuck? He doesn’t just run at the guy swinging wildly which is exactly what he did. He has good take downs and what he did against Chuck is not what he usually does to try and get a take down…he could have stoped and regrouped when chuck started backing but instead he decided to trade with him.

It will gross the most money.

But Chuck will KO Tito's ass again.....there's no way Chuck won't be able to hit Tito's easter island head atleast once over 5rds.:D

Not fight of the year candidate.

somewhat agree.

QJ and Randy aren't really stand up fighters but a pure ground fighter will not stand a chance. I think the only 205ers who have a chance, in order are : Shogun, Silva and.......in a couple of years Bisping.
