Shogun did really good at PRIDE 32: The Real Deal, basically dominating Kevin Randleman and putting him in submissions and finally getting him to tap after all the pain Randleman withstood. I love the highlights PRIDE shows of him, especially the KO on Ricardo Arona.

this is my favorite fighter and it was good to see him do good at real deal without kicks to a grounded opponent.

Shogun is the man and in my opinion is probably the top 205 pounder in the world. He dominated Quinton Jackson and owned Overeem last month with no effort. He is also probably the best fighter to ever come out of the Chute Boxe Academy

watch the overeem fight again if you can. Shogun was trading about 40-60 with overeem until overeem hit the ground.

the Randleman fight was good strategy by making the monster slow the hell down. If shogun would have tried trading then, it might have went badly.

his fighting is different since he got hurt. BUT seeing him triumph after the NSAC took away 50% of his power makes me add all of the credit right back.

His gameplan is 150%, but his toe-to-toe is about 75%. I still want my old shogun back!.

What power did they take away? Those scissor type, leaping kicks to a downed man?

think about it for a second

no stomps
no soccer kicks
no knees to the head of an opponent on his back
no kicks or knees to the head of an opponent in the four-point

that's a lot of power.

Hopefully he will be back, I'd be a bit gunshy also after that elbow injury

i say he needs some warm up fights though get use to being in the octagon
agreed. chuteboxe usually does pretty well to get ready for fights. i'm sure they'd train well for it. shogun has fought in the cage before though

Shogun is great, but does anyone think he can be very sloppy? Especially when going for certain kicks or stomps. Not doubting his skill, just asking.

Compared to those who came before him, Shogun is DEADLY ACCURATE. Even Sakuraba, who (arguably) made the stomping pass famous, couldn't hit a dude in the head for crap.

Opening up your balls to get booted HARD for a shot at somebody's head will result in getting knocked off balance, no matter what. He's AMAZING for what he gets away with, and how much damage he can deal (superman punch or stomp of death.

Of course it'd be in comparison, but I'd never call him sloppy.
