I need recommendations on some good tunes to load into my iPod for training. Any ideas?

Maybe some fast-paced music like some old Metallica or Megadeth to get the heart pumping. At least that works for me when i workout.

Atreyu - Becoming the Bull
Disturbed - Perfect Insanity, Down with the Sickness
Metallica - So What, Stone Cold Crazy
Throwdown - No Love
Killswitch Engage - My Curse, Reckoning

These all get me ready to work out.

Depends what you're into, really. What music genres you're into and what you're doing, I think?

I listen to light Alt stuff when I run, peps me up or something. Matt and Kim - Daylight, Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker - Choices/Kit, Chairlift - Bruises, Conor Oberst - Breezy, Counting Crows - Mr. Jones, Neon Trees - Animal, Barenaked Ladies - Pinch Me, Alphabeat - Fascination, The Airborne Toxic Event - Sometime Around Midnight.

Lifting or bag work; Coolio - Gangster's Paradise, South Park Mexicans - Dirty Rich, Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood, KRS One - 9mm Goes Bang, Twiztid - How Does It Feel/Afraid of Me, Kevin Rudolf - I Made It, Jin - Carpe Diem, Cypress Hill - Rock Superstar/Dr. Greenthumb, Swollen Members - Warrior/Red Dragon, Jeremih - I'm A Star, KoRn - Coming Undone/Twisted Transistor.

And I listen to Chinese instrumentals while doing forms.

Uhh, yeah, I think that's it. Will edit other tunes if I think of 'em.

I think it all depends on what you like ^see that up there.

I personally like something fast paced, but not really hard while I run. I guess some of the less angry alty stuff would suffice appropriately. Rise Against isn't bad in this respect.

However when its heavy bag or shadowboxing time, I like something harder, the faster paced Breaking Benjamin, as well as some Sick Puppies. Most Disturbed works for me at the heavier end of the spectrum.

When its kihon/kata time, i prefer silence, it helps me focus easier without all the distractions.

I love these threads.

I know it's not cool to like "new metal" but I have a lot of Breaking Benjamin, Saliva, Disturbed and similar in my iPod, also Coal Chamber and a song by a group I never heard of, "Brother Go On" by Black Water Rising.

I also downloaded a few Rohff songs (the fellows that brought you La Puissance, that GSP walks out to) IDK if it's the beats or the fact that I love listening to them spit hot fire in French.

I've also got a fair bit of Snoop, Talib Kweli, Pharrell/N.E.R.D., Ludacris, Rammstein, Powerman 5000, Static-X, and Tool in there.

Sandstorm and a little bit of similar techno help me dig deep if I need to.

HTH.

Then you can imagine how thrilled I was to see that there was the "best of Coal Chamber" CD (yeah, there is one) on top of the stereo at the dojo. Some posters know why I love to listen to "Loco" at such a high volume.

Hey DW, who first talked "Becoming the Bull" up to you? Huh huh huh???
