I have been working out equally yet my left chest is still growing bigger than my right chest. Can someone help me out. So now do I put more weight on my right arm or something when bench pressing?

Hmmmm....Maybe use a little bit more weight on your right arm in single hand dumbell bench press

yea thats the only thing I can think of though do not make it more then a 10 pound difference max.. I'd stay at a 5 pound difference.. it will not be over night but it should slowly catch up.. if not see a doctor.. which I suggest first you might have a muscle tear or something your not aware of..

are u stronger on the left side too? or is it just a size issue?

actually it would be best to keep the SAME weight in each hand. That means you should stop using barbell and switch to arm isolated exercises. When your weaker half gets tired, thats the end of the set. that means your stronger half wont be worked as hard and ultimately will not grow as fast. eventually you will even out.

until you have more experience lifting, I recommend isolation in all your workouts. (i.e single leg leg raises, single arm curls, single arm presses, etc)

drivenfaster has a good point, but if u need it quick, just do right side only, u never answered if u still go here, but yeah, there are my 2 cents on this topic

Beginners should not be using isolation techniques, that is incorrect. Simple, compund movements are the best for beginners. Presses, Rows, Squats. Once the body becomes acclimated to muscle growth, then more advanced movements should be used; i.e. isolation.


Do not use different weights for each hand. Your muscles will even out over time.

i was having the same problem for my first few years working out all u can do is keep going and eventially it will even out or make sure u arent benching un evenly

Work more with free weights, and focus entirely on your form. Even if it feels like you can do more reps with one side than the other, just do as many as your weakest allows. That's one thing you can try.
