Hi all, i am very interested for MMA. And i want to start it, but i need some advice. Do I need experience from another sports to start with MMA? I trained kick box for almost 1year, but i dont know if this is enough to start MMA?

If you're talking about competing, you'll definitely need to train a lot of grappling first, kickboxing alone will mean you have about three seconds to KO your opponent before even a mediocre grappler puts you on your back and subs you.

If you just want to train, you don't need anything at all except the gym membership.

Nope. I know a lot of people who started training MMA without any previous experience.

Gotta start somewhere right?

Welcome to the forum! Don't worry about being experienced in a certain background before getting into MMA. Theres a number of current UFC fighters who went into MMA without any martial arts background. Forrest Griffin as one example. A year of kickboxing isn't a bad start though, you'll have a decent strike game and be you'll be aware of footwork and using space etc.

When you start up, feel free to post your adventures into MMA on here and keep us all updated on how you're doing. Good luck dude!
