I guess they saw investment opportunities considering that no matter what the gambling the house usually wins.

Its impossible to gamble successfully with a "the house wins" mentality.

Its like being a fighter with a "my opponent usually wins" mentality.

The battle is lost mentally before its begun.

...

The "house usually wins" theory is a myth.

If the house wins its due to most gamblers making bets based on emotions rather than facts.

On the flipside this means it is possible to beat the house making bets on facts/truth which tend to be more reliable.

Those are the basics.

Well I whenever I played blackjack in Vegas I won but when I gambled recently at a Native American casino I lost $50 in two hands of blackjack so I have no idea if that has to do with emotions versus facts. But it would make sense if people made most of their bets based on emotions. Not sure how that happened to me.

Matches in UFC can't be predictable for several reasons. The fighters are always on the same level of skill and have the same weight, and sometimes only luck can decide who will be the winner. NBA is completely different, or NFL. While making predictions in NBA, it is important to analyze a lot of data about the teams, and after that to make a pick. There so much information to analyze that sometimes people use computer technologies to process all that data. Also, the predictions on these sports are more likely to be true, when you will use them you will understand.
