i have decided that this forum really could use the whole rep thing to be more than just an miniscule increase every 10,000 years!
first off, i guess it's a matter of whether or not the system can be redesigned and new ways of repping instated. but if it can/could be, then i propose a belt system, similar to Sherdog, but where rep is the key factor. simply put, every rep is worth 1 point, and you can only recieve rep if you've given one out. meaning, for me to have recieved 10 rep, i have to have given 1 rep for each i recieved, i.e. 10. this way, all rep is reciprocated, and it forces people to rep others if they want theirs to be boosted.
as for the belts, the mods/admins have to determine a suitable scale, such as, everyone starts off as whites, then when you get say 25 rep, you move up to yellow... 100 to the next, 150 to the next, so on... the scale wouldn't be static, as you should need a much greater amount of rep to go to the next belt.
i just think this way, everyone's rep is earned and reciprocated, and it would also take a while to move up in belts--not like in sherdog where people just post to make themselves feel good.
anyway... just my idea.
