"The Ultimate Fighter 11" cast member Rich Attonito (8-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) returns to the octagon on Sept. 15 to welcome UFC newcomer Rafael Natal (12-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) to the organization.

UFC officials announced the matchup today.

The pair meets on the preliminary card of UFC Fight 22 in Austin, Texas. Featuring a matchup between middleweight contenders Alan Belcher and Demian Maia, the main card of UFC Fight Night 22 airs live on Spike TV.

As a cast member of "TUF 11," Attonito defeated Lyle Steffens to gain entry to the house and was awarded a win against Lyacey Uscola when "Ice Cold" was disqualified an illegal knee. Attonito was also forced to withdraw the tournament due to a broken hand suffered in the contest.

Nevertheless, Attonito returned for the season's live finale and defeated the infamous Jamie Yager via second-round TKO. Attonito is an American Top Team fighter who carries an official three-fight win streak.

Meanwhile, Natal fights for the first time in the octagon. "Sapo" has won five of his past six contests, including a May knockout win over "The Ultimate Fighter 4" winner Travis Lutter under the Moosin banner.

While Natal does have three knockout wins to his credit, the submission ace is known best for his grappling game. Natal owns seven career victories by tapout, and he's won five of his past six contests.

I will always root for Rich Attonito. I think the guy is a well rounded fighter who has descent stand-up and is good in the ground. I'm glad to see the UFC has kept him, and will let him stick around for a few more fights. He also trains at the ATT gym in Florida with the likes of Thiago Alvez and Thiago Silva.

Rafael Natal is going to have a huge strength and endurance advantage. Tennis players have powerful forearms and are used to running back and forth for hours. Still, the fact that he's never fought in the UFC since he's been busy with Wimbledon has to be concerning.
