That was a good interview. It seems like Coker thinks Jake Shields will sign with the UFC. Interesting about Whitehead getting arrested also.

Interesting question..

Coker is slick in his buisness handlings as well...

Strikeforce has made money every year since it has established itself in MMA, something no other organization has accomplished.

Not even the UFC.

Also Strikeforce damn near owns the HP pavillion..... so they double up on shows there... they can always fall back on a free check in that arena.

They have sponsers, as well as a slick contract with Showtime which is in the 16 per year bracket... half of those 16s are "Strikeforce Challengers Series" Showtime picks up the tab on that...... CBS picks up the tab on their live 4 shows per year.....

And they are selling out commercial spots on CBS.... it's only a matter of time before they can name their price for those slots.... The representitives of CBS have already admitted that in itself is very interesting to them and have shown not an inch of intention to pull out of the MMA buisness...

It's pretty well known that fighters in Japan aren't paid very well... So their top stars showing up stateside under the Strikeforce banner for a fight or two is only helping Coker to garnish more interest and fan base...

All in all.... I'd throw the dice and bet that we are not about to see Strikeforce go under like Affliction, the IFL, or EliteXC anytime soon...

Not from an organization that was in sports entertainment for over 10 years before even touching MMA.

Strikeforce, this guy knows what he is doing with a limited budget, he makes Dana look like a noob who got his job by being friends with the owners. Strikeforce and Gina, all the way.

When Strikeforce purchased EliteXC the CBS and Showtime Deals were pretty public info... little googling should help if you feel like reading up on it.

Strikeforce was in Kickboxing for 10 years before touching MMA.

Hasn't lost money since it's surface.

And yes HP pavillion is where they lay their head with damn near total ownership.... Frank Shamrock owns a portion of it as well..

Commercial slots sold out. For tonights event.

Fighters complain about japanese paychecks in MMA..

None of that is guestimation.
