wow everyone wants to fight GSP, I wonder why? Silva fans say Silva can beat GSP easily, Penn fans say Penn can beat GSP easily. Everyone is moving up or moving down to WW to get a shot at GSP. So many posts and threads about how GSP cant finish fights, and boring to watch yet it seems if you want to be regarded as the best p4p fighter they have to beat GSP. Looks like Silva and Penn both know that in order to be the best they are going to have to beat the best and GSP is there main target. It kind of says it all when 2 champions from different weight divisions come to the WW to get the chance to be the true p4p king. Silva and Penn have just proved that GSP is the man to beat if you want to be the best p4p fighter in the world.

Anderson wants to fight GSP because he knows he has a huge size and strength advantage. Who else are they supposed to want to fight? Machida is the champ at 205 and Anderson won't fight him. You have 3 of the 4 top P4P fighters in the world of course they both want to fight closest guy. GSP is caught in the middle if BJ had beaten GSP in there last fight I have little doubt he would have asked to fight Anderson.

I want to see GSP vs Silva happen but not at 170. Give GSP a few months to put on the weight correctly and have them fight at 185.

Silva is not a WW and if he beat GSP at WW it wouldnt mean as much because he would probably vacate the WW title as he probably wouldnt want to make weight and defend it.

GSP has just about cleaned out the UFC WW division and his next move should be to naturally move up in weight.

Who is moving down to fight GSP? A fight with Silva would be at a catchweight or middleweight, Anderson couldn't make WW if he wanted to.

Just over a year ago GSP beat BJ so bad he had to quit inbetween rounds...

Less than a year ago Silva couldnt finish Thales Leites In a 5 round snorefest.

Buyrate would be insane, not so sure Silva would beat his ass though. GSP may "LnP" as some see it, but he can still take guys down and he has a dominate top game, you can't just "LnP" an entire fight if you can't keep the guy down. Silva's strength is his striking and it's not easy to knock a guy out from your back.

It would be a very interesting fight, because it could go so many different ways.

here's why

1.for the last six or so months silva has been talking about having the biggest fights possible and gsp is a big fight and has nothing to do with being #1P4P because silva is already #1P4P who is also going on 35 and knows that he hasn't got much longer until he is shot. he is a striker not a grappler and strikers don't have the career lifespan that grapplers do.

2.bj was still bitter about the first fight and wanted vengence

and i have never heard silva or bj talk about being P4P, i've only heard them talk about testing themselves while gsp is the only one who talks about P4P stuff

Do people realize just how much bigger Anderson Silva is then GSP? Remember how much bigger Lesnar was than Mir? Your looking at about the same size diffrence but considering they aren't as big it will look way bigger. Relative to there sizes the weight diffrence is BIGGER.

Silva looked about the same size as Forrest and Forrest is a huge LHW. GSP wont be able to blanket a much bigger like he does to welterweights.

right, im not bashing fedor here... it just seems that the legend that wiped through pride has to much pull in the current p4p rankings.... heres my argument

GSP... completely cominates his opponents, never really looking in any danger as of late in any of his last fights. absolute domination in the sport. fighting the best of the best WW's and making them look like B level fighters.

Anderson Silva... fought the best at MW, had never really looked under any threat apart from henderson, when all dan done was lay on him... which means **** all, its not as if he had him in some serious GNP danger. even stepped up and has made a former champion (griffin) look foolish... many even give him a serious shot at the LHW belt if shogun beats machida

BJ Penn... makes an absolute mockery of every LW you throw at him... again, domination.

now... to be considered top p4p fighter, imo you have to be constantly fighting the best.... look at mayweather in boxing, he left for a year, coems back & he was ranked about 5th by the ring magazine until he proved himself again... hes now currently in number 2 spot in most peoples eyes cause of how pacquiao dominates (a la penn, gsp, silva)

what would these 3 have to do to get number 1 in most peoples eyes... end of the day all fedor has done lately is beat Arlovski (pretty poor & not exactly a threat in todays HW division) Sylvia (next) and rogers.. impressive ko, but come on, not exactly worthy of keeping you at number 1 imo. His position as number 1 heavyweight is in doubt, simply due to the depth of the HW division in the UFC

Exactly. Silva shouldn't waste his time unless GSP wanted to move up to MW to fight him. Silva should move up to LHW full time and I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to if Shogun can beat Machida in the rematch. IMO, Silva vs. Shogun for LHW strap is a better fight than Silva vs. GSP. Even though I think Silva would win either of those fights.
