I dunno, I saw some recent training from Babalu, and he was getting popped sparring and got hurt a few times and needed a break. That just makes me think he can be broken in a fight if Robbie clips him with his right hand.

Uh oh, I didn't even think about this being a catchweight fight..

I think Sobral is one of the more naturally talented fighters in the world, but without a big weight cut Robbie is going to be very, very dangerous for him.

I tend to agree here....Robbie isnt easy to get down and Sobral will stand he isnt afraid so I can see him gettin caught, Im gonna go with Robbie...:pray01:

I love Robbie and I try to stay loyal to all the old militich fighters but, I don't understand how a guy who's biggest career win is against a gassed and faded ninja Rua, is favored over a guy who beat Shogun, prangly and jeremy Horn in one night. I mean, Horn was Robbie's grappling teacher and I don't think Robbie could out wrestle Prangly or bring as much fire power as Shogun.

Is something wrong with Babalu? what am I missing?
Someone straighten me out before I bet the house on Sobral.

Short memories, Lawler just knocked out Melvin Manhoef while Babalu is coming back from a long lay off after being decimated by Mousasi.

Babalu looks like skelator, WTF. That pic definatly gives me a bad feeling I just don't think Babalu looks that fit.

He just looks dehydrated. I hate the whole weight cutting thing But I know I'm in a small minority there.

I don't see their last fights as representative of either. Babalu got caught Robbie caught a guy.

Lawler may have caught a guy but Babalu got straight out dominated by a better fighter.

Robbie wasn't being dominated?

In my eyes this fight is 50/50, with Babalu being the better fighter, and Robbie being the harder puncher. That's about all there is to it, I don't think you can't even begin to compare Mousasi with Lawler, or Manhoef with Babalu.

With that being said, this is one of those times where a loss could put Sobral on my vbookie black list. But I can't put him on there just because one of the best fighters in the world took it to him.

I went back and watched babalu mousasi again (didn't take long) and I just don't see the same fight you do. Babalu escaped side control and created a scramble, mousasi popped up and unloaded on him. An inch here , a fraction of a second there and the fight would have lasted longer. At their level that's all it takes on "any given night". Mousasi fought well and won. He didn't dominate or out class babalu.

I also came accross this fight while I was looking. To me, this is what out classed looks like.

Using their almost common opponents and my majic mma math matrix, I predict Robbie gets choke out in the second round and babalu doesn't let go until Matt Hughes soccer kicks him in the head.
I'm betting the house.:thumb02:
