Thiago Alves by TKO/KO.
He idn't about taking the fight to the ground. Hardy also.
Hardy would feel more comfortable on striking with Alves... and he would get KTFO'd.

i'll go hardy in a year or so, i believe in that kid but now i'd go alves but it wouldn't be a blowout as most people think because they just like to watch alves's highlights when in fact lytle and parisyian where giving him trouble even Kos had he's moments and thats on 2 weeks notice but even after alves beat hardy, daley would be there to brutally avenge hardy's loss by destroying alves

hazellet was doing alright against daley though, but atleast mclovin knows how to use his reach unlike struve, saunders, grove and everyone other tall fighter in MMA except anderson

I would love to see this fight. Either make or break Hardy. Either way, we see what hes make of striking wise. Seeing as Dan goes on and on about his striking, losing to Alves would derail him completely and end the speculation, or completely redeem him if he wins.

I think Hardy has better hands, but Alves has better overall striking. I think Alves would win by decision or TKO.

Not too sure with this one, like diable said Hardy better hands, Thiago over all striking. Power is pretty close but I'd give the edge to Hardy. Both have great chins as well, it'd be an exciting fight but I think Alves wins this.

I'd be more excited about Daley vs Alves though.

As much as i like Hardy, unless his wrestling improves dramatically i don't see him beating Alves, Kos or Fitch. His sub defense and chin may mean he doesn't get subbed or KO'd but i can't see him dominating enough to get a decision over any of them.

Alves has earned respect no doubt but Johnson? What the hell has Johnson done to convince you that he would expose Hardy? Johnsons stand up is pants. He has power, but regards technique? Rubbish.

I said the exact same thing in another thread. Hardy is in serious trouble against any of these guys and could realistically be 0-4 from his last 4 fights if these bouts were to occur.

Would that be enough for him to be cut? Given the UK push, I doubt it. What it would do is solidify him as a lower/mid tier PPV opener who could potentially start the nights show with a K.O.

Thiago is too much, agree with oldfan let him try Johnson, I would bet some real cash on that fight. Thiago could GnP him to the point where no one could tell where is head ended and his hair began.
