I've been looking around at various forums all over the internet from the underground, to sherdog, to UFC.com, and several others... and the amount of trash talk and BS being thrown the way of Machida and his fans (guys like me) is insane. With very few exceptions, that hasn't been the case here.

He fought an awesome fight, and proved that he is the number one guy right now by defeating who I still believe is the obvious number two.

Regardless of who my favorite is, I'll be looking forward to seeing both guys next venture into the octagon.

Yeah i was happy with how Machida was taking him down and controlling the fight until that huge shot...

I cant wait to see who Machida will KILL next! I give props to Shogun for the big win!

I'm a massive Shogun fan, and was a great win, but recognise Machidas skills and no doubt he'll be back for a third fight in the future, I think he'll come back stronger, and we'll get to see some good action in both their next fights.
p.s This is what MMA is really all about, not the faking or cheap shots we saw from both guys in the KOS/DALEY fight.

I'm not one to rub stuff into other people's faces anyway (err...) and I'm a fan of both Shogun and Machida. Granted, out of the two I heavily favor Shogun, but that's because Shogun is my all time favorite fighter. I'm fairly certain that there is nobody in the LHW division who can beat Machida in top shape except for Shogun in top shape.

I would also like to tell the vast majority of Machida fans on MMAF that I appreciate the lack of excuses that are made.

IT's refreshing to see most people being respectful in this situation. Especially because Machida is pretty classy himself. I'm not a fan of his, but props & respect, 100%. This isn't the type of MMA fighter anyone should be poking fun at.

[Edit] Hammerlock, so true. Always a big thumbs-up to a fighter not throwing out excuses after a loss. HUGE thumbs up.
