Submission of the Month

The last two times Aljamain Sterling got someone's back in the UFC. He might have finished.

First Cody Stamann, then Cory Sandhagen.

Aljamain Sterling could be turning into another Demian Maia. Where his finish rate from the back could be 90%-100%. We could see Aljo's future opponents putting themselves into weird positions to make certain Aljo doesn't get that back position. (Like Demian Maia's opponents) Would be cool to see.

But at the same time it will force Aljamain Sterling to adjust which of course will only make things more entertaining for us because we get to see the evolution of a fighter. After all if a fighter stops evolving they die, which is true in nature of course. I'm surprised he isn't getting the bantamweight title shot.

My breakdown for Ben Askren vs Demian Maia was...

Ben Askren wins if he doesn't let Demian Maia take his back.

Demian Maia wins if he takes Ben Askren's back.

That could be my future breakdown for all of Aljamain Sterling's future fights.

He wins an estimated 90% to 100% of the time, if he gets his opponent's back.

This might be said of Demian Maia and Aljamain Sterling. Although I haven't gone back and watched all their past fights to get real numbers.

Demian Maia taking Gilbert Burns back and not finishing.

Might have been the first time in 5-10 years. Demian Maia got someone's back in the UFC and didn't finish them.

Well you get two BJJ guys and have them fight and the grappling skills might be even enough to where a finish just isn't going to happen. That was the case here.
