I watched this fight at a bar at 1 pm and afterwords thought how this would effect the buy rate for the night as the vast majority that order the tape delays order it at night time.

I wonder if word leaked on how bad the AS fight was and decided not to order the fight they previously would have.

On top Delayed fights typically have a weaker buy rate. I wouldnt be surprised to see sub 200K for this event which I think would be a major wake up call.

Exactly. I was thinking the same thing. The buy rate would have been high, had it been played once at it's regular time but since it was played twice, people probably started to tell others to not buy it. Doesn't help that very few amount of people knew about the 1:00 live time. I expect between 300,000 and 400,000.

BJ Penn has rarely had a buyrate under 500,000. Even with the word leaking out of how bad the Anderson Silva fight was (which may have peaked interest) I think BJ/Edgar could still cary it to a decent buyrate. I would be shocked if it did under 400,000.

I typically question buying a PPV that is tape delayed. When I heard about the Anderson Silva fight I just skipped the PPV. I know I did the rest of the fighters a great disservice but I'm not going to pay for disrespect.

Congrats to the rest of the fighters who put forth and gave it their all.
