I had never been to a live event yet and was thinking about going next time they have one in my area. I'm in New York and i had seen them host events in Atlantic City and Mohegan Casino in Conneticut a couple of times. I know it probbaly depends on what kind of tickets you get but for people who had already attended live events is it much better than PayPerView? Because i can imagine you can see the fights much closer and clearer on your HDTV at home.

guess i confused everyone with what i was getting at. Let me rephrase.
Have you ever been to a live UFC event? Is it that much better than watching it on PPV?

from experience i would say the live events have the off the tap energy feel but for viewing u cant beat a big screen at home.

Also depends on the event, some can be a bit lacklustre and others r awesome.

I also live in NY and was at Shamrock Ortiz II in Vegas and Shamrock Ortiz III in Florida.

Although the main events at both shows were largely predictable and disappointing, there were around 9 fights in total on each card with some great battles. I thoroughly enjoyed both nights. The atmosphere was electric at both (especially in Florida at Hard Rock Live which is a much smaller arena) and I am already looking forward to going to another live event.

My advice would be to go if you get the chance. It's a great night out.

ive never been to a ufc event and dont know what its like. I have a question though. when your at the ufc events and when your sitting in the farther rows. is it easy to see the fight because their behind a cage and there are alot of people in front of you. or is it better to watch on ppv becuase the fight is up close.

I read an interview a while back with Dana White and he mentioned that they were working on getting a UFC event in Edmonton. All I know is if the UFC shows up here...best believe i'll be there with bells on!!! Well...might leave the bells at home....

Yeah, the view is obviously going to better at home on your big screen, but it's not just the view you're going for. It's the experience of attending an event of such caliber. It's like going to a concert vs. watching one on tv. Yeah you see more and the view is better, but you don't get that "energy" from thousands of people cheering (or booing) all at once. I've yet to attend a UFC event, but i would think the energy flowing through the venue would be sick!! Keep us posted Storm442
