According to the Wrestling-Observer Newsletter, a highly-ranked UFC official said that the company no longer plans to ignore WWE's public "challenges."

While UFC let Angle's storyline "open challenge" to anyone from a 4-, 6- or 8-sided ring go unaddressed, it will not be doing that in the future. If WWE attempts to put one of its wrestlers over as superior to MMA fighters, it will respond to put public pressure on WWE to make the match happen.

"Now that we have exposure, we're not going to be ignoring stuff like this. We'll go public and have Chuck Liddell accept any public challenges or claims they'll make," the source said.

I am wondering is if this will be scripted or freestyle. if you recall Daneil Puder was not suppose to give Kurt such a struggle, that was not scripted and Kurt almost lost, so one can only imagine Chuck Liddell.

That's really good. I do love WWE but if this challenge happend, I don't think Vince Mcmahon would let Kurt Angle go up against Chuck Liddel. That's career suicide and phsycial suicide.

IF Kurt went to MMA instead of WWE (F when he debued) he would have been a pretty dominant force with his wrestling background, just had to work on his hands.........as of right now, with his neck probs and such, it wouldnt be pretty

That's true with most pro wrestlers, most wrestlers have injury problems that occurs throughout the year. I don't think there is a WWE superstar that could handle Liddell in a real unscripted UFC ring. I would like to see the Big Show fight Liddell in the octagon :dunno: , that would be interesting.

It would be interesting to see Big Show hit the ground instantly with one of Chuck's punches. And i think a more fit match would be Tim Sylvia vs Big Show. Besides Vince is smart enough to not put one of this wrestlers in such a risky position.

Dude Kurt Angle is a former Olympic Gold Medal winner and this guy has also trained in Boxing for many years....Also he's a submission fighter....Don't you think for one Minute that this guys couldn't dominate Liddell.....In the past Chuck has had problems with people who can wrestle....ANd no one can denie the facts here....Angle can wrestle with anyone in the world....I think Angle could surprise a few people in the UFC. Hell Rashad is dominate and he's no where near Kurt Angle as far as wrestling ability goes.

Personally, I think they should let the fighters start using weapons instead of introducing the scripted antics of professional wrestlers on a massive level. The reperscussions from fighters slaying each other will be better for the sport than "merging" in some fashion with the WWE(F)(G)(C) fake crap.

He trained boxing with Leon Spinks........Judo Gene has taught him submissions....but like you said...."who knows"....People should just be aware that they don't give out Olympic gold medals to punks....This guy is the real deal, no matter how fake the WWE may be....Kurt Angle is for real.

Not really....Did you ever think about this....? He's doing what he loves and the WWE pays him alot more than the UFC, PRIDE or any MMA contest would give him...also it's more brutal.

Uhh...yeah. That's because one is scripted and one is real. As in reality. I don't think I should have to tell anyone here which is which.

Kurt Angle is a true american icon. He won the Olympic Gold medal in 1996 with a broken neck. I'm not saying that he is a push over but the UFC is a different enviroment. The reason he isn't in any MMA is because he loves wrestling and before he was in the WWE he was supposed to go to ECW for less money, he just loves to wrestle. IMO I don't think Angle could beat Liddell in the UFC.

Don't forget Couture beat Liddell as well.....It took almost 2 years for Chuck to get back and i don't it had anything to do with Chuck improving....Randy just slowed down with age.
