Amanda Serrano is doing something every fighter has wanted to do for a long time. Win a belt in either boxing or MMA and successfully enter the other realm and be successful at it. It is the ultimate hurdle in MMA. It might sound easy but it has proven to be one of the hardest things to do. So far Amanda Serrano has had success. She is 2-0-1 so far winning two in a row and both fights by submission. The thing is she has yet to fight anyone with a big name or even a good resume. Regardless is 42-1 as a boxer with 30 KO's and is getting a lot of attention. At 122 pounds people are starting to wonder about a potential super fight between Serrano and the UFC flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko.

Shevchenko is on a 6 fight winning streak as champion of the UFC flyweight division defending her title successfully all six times. Winning eight in a row overall dating back to 2017. Shevchenko has skyrocketed to the top of the UFC and has stayed there really making her the obvious greatest flyweight of all time.

For Serrano there is the Taylor fight. For Shevcheno there is not much she has already slaughtered her division. She may want to go back up to bantamweight to become a UFC double champion but it might be wiser to see if Serrano is interested in a fight beforehand. If Shevchenko can go into boxing and take out someone like Serrano she will really up her stock tremendously and might be considered the greatest woman of all time.

Serrano has said she is interested in this potential super fight and has tweeted to Dana White that if he meets Jake Paul's demands she will surely fight Shevchenko. Valentina has boxed professionally and also has an extensive kickboxing career. So the idea of Shevchenko trying boxing again is not impossible. Serrano has already had her MMA fights so there is that.

If both women continue to win this idea is not going to go away. It will only get bigger and bigger. So if not now it can happen later. Regardless at 122-5 pounds this is the best fight there is nothing better unless you are a boxing fan and want to see Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano. But if you are an MMA fan this is the fight you will want to see.

What are your thoughts on Valentina Shevchenko vs Amanda Serrano?

If I remember right, there was controversy with Brock Lesnar not having spent much time in the USADA pool prior to competing in the UFC.

Would Serrano need to be randomly tested for a period of months before fighting in the UFC.

This goes back to the whole boxing versus MMA situation where going into the domain of one puts the other at a disadvantage and visa versa. Valentina may have been a world class kickboxer but that doesn't necessarily translate to boxing either. Ultimately it goes back to whomever's discipline the fight is in has the advantage.
