What will happen to the welterweight division if Matt Hughes remains champion after BJ and GSP? Will people lose interest in this division?

I mean the TUF 4 winner will probably get his a$$ handed to him, Diego Sanchez is not Matt Hughes ready, and Karo Parysian will have to work his way up again because he lost to Diego! So what is left? Your thoughts?

I dont think so. It will prove that Hughes is a god, he would have to be to fend off Bj and GSP.... There is so much young blood in the welterweight Div. that it will keep things interesting for some time to come.

In my opinion if he gets through BJ,GSP. He should move up a weight class.He has nothing else to prove as a WW.But i would like to see him fight Mayham.

i think that Matt can and will get through Bj and then GSP. I can not see him retireing that quick though. There are alot of younger fighters that by the time he dose fight GSP(sometime next year) there will be a "contender"( I do not think that anyone else is ready ) but they will use someone as a punching bag...... I can see him retireing in maybe a few years though regardless win or lose he will be the greatest welterweight in the world IMO.

The WW divison is already set for about a year with contenders Penn, Gsp, TUF 4, and Diego. I think their gonna be okay. Plus when thats done you'll have some new up and comers.

there was a rumor that franklin would move up to 205 if he beats silva. then maybe hughes moves up one to and try's and conqours 2 weight clases. Maybe maybe not.
