i absolutely hate the guy for one . However I must say he does have good stand up but the firs person to get him to the ground will beat him no problem. I also wouldnt be too excited about his standup just yet. The first fight wasnt impressive at all (it was nothing but wild kicks) and the next was against a guy with not so good standup.
His biggest advantage is his reach if someone can get underneath and use the dirty boxing clench they would win.
His standup has huge holes that even I can see. All of his kicks are telegraphed - any decent striker could counter these. That's why you don't see this kind of standup in the octagon. The one thing he has going for himself is his speed. He's probably the fastest guy in the house, but that won't really help him when he's facing a guy who can control him once he's on the ground. Blanchard looked one or even two weight classes smaller than Yager and even he managed to take him down - he just couldn't control him after that. The only fight he lost was when he almost got put flat on his back and he didn't know what to do, so he kicked the guy in the face while he was down and got DQed. His other wins were against guys with losing records. Long story short, as soon as he's on his back - the other guy wins.
His striking has holes but I don't think he would be throwing those kicks against a good striker. A tavares Jager fight would be pretty good standup. I don't know anything about his ground game though so we will see.
